You backslid because you are human, among other reasons known only to you. Don't get down on yourself. All you have to do is take the steps that make sense.

You said at the end of the first month you started eating badly. That's problem #1 to change.
You talk about going to the gym (which is awesome). But, I'd also track your calories. Weight loss boils down to simple math- when you burn more calories than you consume you lose weight. Tracking your calories to make sure you stay in your daily allowance is the easiest way to assure that happens.

I havent had any liquor since Jan 1 and my surgery was Feb 5. Im going to a wine tasting party tomorrow with my friends. Is it ok to have a glass of wine? Preferably Merlot

I'm definitely feeling amazing. Shopping for clothes is entirely too much fun. I haven't worn a dress in 10 years and now everyday.

My follow up was today. Since April 24 I have lost another 10 pounds!!!!! I feel like the weight is sliding off now. At first when I looked in the mirror I felt like it was working. Ive learned that it takes time and patience. It doesnt happen overnight. I thank all the people to gave me advice on this forum. Lol like im accepting an award.
Anyone else gaining more confidence??

I paid out of pocket. This surgery wasn't bad at all. In a week I was out shopping. Everyone is different but I will tell you I do Pilates which I started right after my band surgery (June 2011). Had my TT march 1. It made all the difference in the world. My Dr said doing Pilates made his job easier and my healing easier. Make sure you do everything the dr says, get your Protein in and Walk. The more you move the quicker you'll heal. I'm back at the gym I just do what ever doesn't hurt. Sneezing hurts so hold a pillow and sneeze with your mouth open. This is a life changing surgery, more than the band, the band helped me change my lifestyle to a healthy one but this surgery is a very visual one. I had a hanging lower abdomen for 29 years and I can tell you when he took off the bandages I cried, not from pain but from being able to see my feet and my other parts with out bending forward, stepping out of the shower and not lifting the skin to dry off, putting on a pair of pants with out smashing the skin in to zip up, all the things that were normal for me were gone and in place of that was a whole new world. Not only will this change your body but it will change your emotional look at your body.

Ok I went to the surgeons office today for my regular check up and hopped on the scale. I'm down 8 pounds for the month. All this time, I'm beating myself about my weight not moving and this is the reason. I'm so relieved!
I told the doc I live in a old traditional brick bungalow and he said maybe your floors aren't leveled. PROBABLY SO!
So my advice to the new bandsters! Make sure your scale is accurate and your house is leveled. Lol

I have been dong Insanity. It's not easy and probably not a great starting point but I started to crave the a$$ kicking each morning lol

I just logged in just to see who has tried this as well. I'm taking my measurements and pictures tomorrow, and am doing the fit test as well. I plan on starting this coming Monday.
