Oh my! Just had the yummiest snack. Chobani Greek yogurt bits mint with dark chocolate. 100 calories, 8 G protein, all natural ingredients. Perfect sweet snack.
  6. I had not seen someone who works in my organization since surgery. She told me my face is too thin!!! I laughed! I have list 95 lbs but have 30 to go! I have never ever been told any part of me was too thin.

    Wanna see what was removed?

Hi! Did you wait 18 months after surgery or after weight loss stalled? I have had the dreaded rash in the folds of my abdomen and my dermatologist is documenting it for me. I can't wait to get rid if the hanging tummy.

    Great progress! You look wonderful!
  10. Call your doctor. I had similar symptoms for a while and downplayed them. Turned out I had an abdominal hernia and needed emergency surgery. Only your doctor can diagnose.

    Fabulous February Post-Op's

Made it to onederland today! Hw 291 today 199.6 It has not been easy these last few weeks. I had an abdominal hernia that incarcerated, had emergency surgery 9/30 at midnight. The doctor told me later I was close to losing portions of my intestines and had I waited any longer, would have died. After surgery--5 inch incision--and five days in hospital, I went home. A few days later I ended up with an infection and back in hospital for three days. Finally on the mend with an open wound that is healing. The symptoms were strange. I had nausea and pain the Monday before that was finally relieved late at night. I had a bowel movement and concurrent vomiting. (That's a sign of a bug problem). The rest of the week I are carefully but could not tolerate anything tight on my stomach--even undie elastic. Friday I was fine until after lunch when I threw up frequently. By the afternoon I knew I was in trouble-- my stomach was distended and painful and I couldn't stop throwing up. Called my surgeon who knew what was wrong and got me to the ER and had a surgeon meet me. I nearly waited too long. I should have called and gone to doctor earlier in the week. Pain is not normal. Don't wait. I did learn that my chronic constipation probably contributed to the hernia. This is one of the more common complications of RNY. All in all, I am glad I had the surgery. I am finally not hugely obese and I am confident that I will heal. Slowly but surely.

It was a hernia and I was lucky as the dr was able to close it with no resection. In hosp for five days. Glad to be feeling better'

I think I may be writing to myself, but that's ok. I am about to undergo surgery--they think I have a hernia. Not fun.

So I learned the hard way-- too much fiber fort pouch. I ate a few spoons of new potatoes with skins. Couldn't process skins. Once it all came up I was ok.

    Fabulous February Post-Op's

Ok February friends, need some advice. I have been doing well until today. I ate some pepitas (roasted pumpkin seeds). I have had them before no problem. Today I felt kind of odd after eating them, but not awful. I drank water. All ok. I ate some lunch-- some leftover turkey meatloaf. It was ok but I felt very full and gassy. It has gotten worse, so much so that I can't keep water down. Tried a zofran. No improvement. Still sliming. Called doctor an hour ago. Haven't heard back. Ideas?

    Food Logs Discussion

This is very helpful. I have been pretty good about logging on mfp and just discovered there is a weekly summary of calories. I was under 1778 calories last week. I have learned thru mfp that when I get 80-100 grams of protein I sleep well and lose weight faster. Otherwise I wake up a lot during the night and my weight stalls . But getting that much protein is hard. I am almost six months post surgery (2/28/13). Started at 291 in December as my highest weight. Now I weigh 210 and really feel great. I aim for 1000-1100 calories but mostly worry about protein. I'd like to lose another 50 lbs and hope the logging and concentration on protein and veggies will get me there.
  20. I too was to have the sleeve, but due to reflux had RNY on Feb 28, 2013. Best decision ever. I have no reflux--my hiatal hernia was repaired, I have lost 75 lbs--went from 291 to 216 today. I feel great. Very little post surgical pain. My life is good and I am very glad I had the surgery.
  21. I started at 291 in December 2012. On day of surgery 2/28/13 I was 277. Today I am 229. Nearly 50 lbs in 3 1/2 months and I feel great. I went from a snug 24 to yesterday a 16.

I am doing ok! Started at 291 then at surgery 281 now 231. Surgery was 2/28. It seems I may be slower than many and faster than others. I seem to best when I don't eat exactly same calories every day. Yesterday I was at 700 and Sunday 1200. I am adhering to healthy, protein rich food most of the time but I am not drinking shakes or much processed food. I feel good. I am swimming as much as the weather allows and try to walk during the day. I have not been this low a weight in 27 years, since I was pregnant with first child. I have never--with weight watchers or calorie counting--been under 250 in 20 years. This is great.
