  1. Theresa's making hats for us? How sweet!! You can send mine C.O.D.
  2. Scott, how are you feeling today? Hope you've gotten good answers by now. Please keep us posted and Best of luck to you!
  3. Blossom, I want to wish you all of the luck in the world on your banding surgery and minimum pain recovery! So glad to have you become a "Band Sister"! Best of luck to you! (((hugs))) and prayers!
  4. Ginny, weekend rentals usually run from Friday evening until Sunday morning (10 a.m. to noon). If you stay over the checkout time, you get charged another day's rent. There is plenty to do there after you leave the condo.:~ go to the Strand historic district and all it's shops,~ ride the trolley car,~tour the mansions, walk on the beach~ ride the ferry and feed the seagulls and watch the porpoises,~ eat,~ etc. You could easily spend a week and never run out of things to do! I can only stay one night.
  5. Hard to tell. I started pbing on water about a week after my 2nd fill. Had 0.2cc removed, seemed fine then.
  6. P. S. Lisa G., you can soak in one of the jacuzzi tubs as long as you want...without little fingers.
  7. O.K., I'm going to reserve it tomorrow. Now, if we can just "force" some other bandsters to come and have a good time! Do we need to bring extra $$ in case Leatha gets us in trouble? (Bond, bribery, donuts, etc.)
  8. Lauri, why don't you boogey on down to Galveston on 11/13 and spend the night w/ some of us "Texas bandsters"? Leatha and Betty are coming from your neck of the woods. Love to have you!
  9. Lisa G., another gorgeous picture! Love your new avatar! I can vouch for her, she really is a cutie!!
  10. You won't know until you try! I was denied, appealed, 8 months later got my band, w/several co-morbidities. (You should see what you have to go through for a kidney transplant!) Best of luck to you!
  11. O.K., just got home...Kemah is basically a Landry Corporation's group of restaurants and shops near a marina w/ tons of sailboats. The Boardwalk Inn's largest room is a kingsize bed. Their Condos are 5 blocks away, not on Water, weekend is 2 day rental, and say no vacancies for 11/13/04. Galveston.... www.spectrumvacationrentals.com I went and toured this one. It's right on seawall, large wraparound balcony, 4 bedrooms (3 kingsize beds, 2 twin), 3 full baths, brand new, huge, drop-dead gorgeous...total for 1 night (11/13/04) $402.50 (includes taxes) (8 @ 50.31 ea.). Non-smoking, check-in 3 p.m., check out 10 a.m. (like we'll be sleeping -ha!) I'll stay if I can room w/ Betty in the twin beds room. The website shows it's interior, looks just like that--has an elevator up to it, plenty of parking. If you want this one, I'll be glad to pay for it, then get reimbursed. We probably won't sleep anyway, so if we get more than 8 to come, great! Let's see...Kyleigh, Ginny, Paula, Leatha, Lisa, Betty, me. I'm going to contact Clara Luz. Anyone else you can think of?
  12. I'm certainly not a dr! Just wondering if a barium swallow would let the dr. see what's going on inside - and if the swelling is going down. Please be sure that he follows the dr's post-op diet, staying on liquids long enough to let this heal properly inside. Best of luck to all of you!
  13. Welcome, Roro! Great weight loss! I agree, don't get too tight and have problems. Is your dr. a conservative filler? Is he/she convenient to get to? Best of luck to you!
  14. Scott, so sorry you're having problems. Have they gotten the nausea under control? Are you on an i.v. for fluids, so you don't get dehydrated? Have they done a barium swallow? Are you able to keep any fluids down yet? Please take care of yourself and sending you (((hugs))) for a quick recovery.
  15. Hi Sweetness, be glad you're getting a battery of tests before your banding. You'll feel that much more confident knowing that you got a "clean bill of health" first! I went through a ton of them, too. I had my gallbladder removed when I was banded. (No sense going through 2 surgeries and recoveries!) Surgery is never fun. But this is laproscopic and after a few crummy days, you'll be back on your feet. Fills are a little needle poke, nothing traumatic. Use this presurgery time to start drinking lots of Water, get used to not drinking w/ your meals, and wait an hour afterwards to drink. That takes some getting used to at first. Start walking, or some form of routine exercise, that you enjoy. Start wearing all your favorite clothes, because pretty soon they'll be falling off you! Best of luck to you!
  16. You can take liquid Benadryl for allergies.
  17. What's really scary is I can relate to most of them! Too funny, Penni!
  18. Betty, you might stick some extra cash in your sock. Leatha's prone to speeding tickets in her fancy, new car. LOL She's going to make this trip in record time!
  19. Just one more reason why they call you "Lethal Woman"!
  20. Sarah, that sounds like a big NSV to me!!
  21. They usually don't post the operating schedule until the day before and usually not until the end of that day. You can probably call the hospital and ask them when you're scheduled. But with the new confidentiality rules, they might not be able to tell you any more.
  22. O.K., Blossom!! You'll be back in that flower bed before you know it! And it will be so much easier getting less weight up and down on those knees! LOL Best of luck to you!
  23. Drove through pouring rain in Houston traffic to get an unfill. Maybe I'll quit hurting now and can get back on that bike! (Hope, Hope!)
  24. Carmen, you've done so well!! If you think you're having problems, please see your dr. You've worked too hard to risk losing your band now. Best of luck to you!
  25. Up 1 pound and had some unfill to 0.5 cc (pain). If not better in week, will get endoscopy. Just want to get feeling better so I can ride my bike.
