Do you think it might be that we have a little bit more self-confidence and we are looking people in the eye more than before?
  2. Melanie, best of luck to you on your search for better health! Please don't give up! Research everything you can get your hands on - about the band, drs., and their aftercare. I don't know how far you are from Mexico. But that is one thing that some people aren't taking into consideration, their aftercare, cost of fills, travel, time off work, hotel, food, taxi. There are several Mexican bandsters here who love their dr. and care. I was denied, appealed, 8 months later got my band locally. Just please remember that this weight didn't appear over night and try to be patient as you figure out what to do.

And have you actually had this particular NSV yet, Leatha? I am so jealous!

Pat, Non scale Victory, like wearing smaller clothes, able to cross your legs, wear your wedding ring, etc. Zoe, you've done fantastic! All these people telling you how good you look! I bet you feel good, too!!
  5. Scott, so glad to hear that you're doing so much better! (Pssst...In case you didn't know it, you have a very loving wife and family.) Hope all continues to go smoothly from now on for you. Now, you and your wife get some rest this weekend, o.k.? And keep drinking that water!
  6. Vicky, Best of luck to you! Please research, research, and research some more. Get all the info. you can find on the band, the surgeon, and his aftercare first. You need to know what to expect w/ the sarci. before you are banded. After getting my band and losing 50 pounds, my health problems and their required prescriptions have been cut in half. I'm able to do things I hadn't felt like, or had the energy to do, in years. P. S. I just celebrated 32 years married to my high school sweetie.
  7. Darcy, that's beautiful! What pattern is it? What type of stitch joins the pieces together? So you're not only beautiful, but talented, too! So who got dibs on it --dear hubby or dear daughter?
  8. Hi, Jennifer, so glad to "meet" you! You feel free to read and post anything you like. We're all friendly, average, overweight people that have been given a chance to be healthier. There are also people here that are researching the band. Look forward to "hearing" from you more often! Congratulations on the 26# loss!

Yes, Lisa G., that's a BIG NSV!!! I have to take the Christmas party outfit back before I even wore it. It's too big. Boo-Hoo (Not!)
  10. O.K., Now you've got me crying! Thank you for such kindness and support! There's absolutely no way to tell you how much that means! Love you "guys"!
  11. Congratulations, Nora! So glad to hear your good news!
  12. NY, sounds like you got the mindset of a winning Bandster!! So happy to hear that you're scheduled! Get ready for a wonderful new life - healthier, happier, and of course, skinnier! Best of luck to you!
  13. Don't you love that "drop jaw" look people get when they recognize who you are?
  14. My husband came out of an airport bathroom and couldn't find me in the crowd. He said my looks have changed so much and I dress so differently now. My green carryon bag gave me away. I had him retell me that about five times. LOL
  15. Burping no more than usual. No problem w/farting at all. Maybe that's why I'm having abdominal pains the last couple of weeks. It's trapped and can't get out. LOL
  16. Talk to Betty (Iluvharleys), she was banded in Dallas 2 weeks ago, self pay, and loves her doctor. Best of luck to you!
  17. Have you checked mexicanbandsters.com ?
  18. That's wonderful! Sleep late, take a leisurely soak and shave your legs, tell DH to eat a big breakfast (but not around you!!). Your last night as an "unbanded woman!"
  19. Me, too! Plus we can run around in our "jammies"!
  20. Sending lots of (((hugs))) to you for tomorrow's surgery. You'll do great!
  21. "You're full of hot air". LOL
  22. Congratulations! The wait is definitely worth it! It took me 8 months to get final approval. Then the surgery was scheduled pretty fast. It cost me about $1000 out of pocket. (Depends on your particular insurance plan.) My surgery included some other fixes not normally included and was billed at $46,000. You've got all the red tape behind you. Better start "getting your ducks in a row". You're getting a band! Yeah!!!

O.K., now I'm choking on my Water. Anyone know "cyber heimlech"? LOL What part of Texas is Frisco in?
  24. Penni, so sorry about everything dominoing on you! Sending healing (((hugs))) your way. Just don't say, "What else can happen?" I can personally guarantee that's a jinx and you'll find out!
  25. Laura, I'm going through similiar problems. Darcy has a lot of experience in this. Your band has been emptied to prevent you from losing it permanently. Hopefully, this is all that's needed for you to heal and get back on track. If we gain some, we'll just have to work on it when we get back "on track". Best of luck to you!
