  1. Your jiggling thighs, my waving upper arms...what a lovely picture that invokes! Hey, Zoe, congratulations on "winding" that "average size woman"!!

How about joining our "weekly scale challenge"? That means picking one day a week to weigh and stay off of that stupid thing inbetween. Your weight will fluctuate and it can drive you crazy! Weighing once a week helps save your sanity!

Congratulations on getting your band! You're the best judge about how you feel. Listen to your body, if it hurts, stop. Will you be able to stay on your post-op diet? Liquids, mushies, etc. It's very, very important to follow your surgeon's rules so that band heals properly and you don't risk future problems. Once you're on solid foods, it will be easier. Talk w/ Leatha. I know she travels a lot and can probably give you some good advice. Best of luck to you!
  4. Penni, thank you, Miss Working Moderator. I just have a dummy button on mine. A dummy for a dummy! LOL
  5. Good advice, Ginny, I've been sweating those overnight guest numberss! Well, we still have a few out that haven't answered about if they'll stay overnight or just for the day.
  6. Paula, if your husband wants to stay at the condo overnight, we can do that. Does he wear speedos? LOL
  7. Clara Luz (Nancy) is coming and riding w/ me! I've had dinner w/her. She's a real sweetie!
  8. Hey, Ryan, final count down!!! What day is your banding? How is Patti doing? You timed that about right, get her recouped, then get your band! Just think of how low your cholesterol will be on this pre-op. Best of luck to you!
  9. I don't see the "Custom Avatar" option, Penni!

Hi Samy, glad you've enjoyed the posts. Are you banded or researching it? If you're banded, was it locally or out of the country? Best of luck to you!
  11. Pam, congratulations on getting your band and a great weight loss! So glad to hear of no complications! Are you eating solid foods yet? It's important to be doing that and knowing how your tummy is handling them before you get a fill. Being hungry is a good sign that everything is healing well, the swelling has gone down, and you're "wide open" until a fill (sometimes 2). Everyone is different as to when they need a fill. I waited 2 months, which is probably longer than average. But Teresa (another bandster) has been banded 7 months, had no fills, and lost 70 pounds! Best of luck to you!
  12. Leatha, this brought tears to my eyes!! I really needed this today! Thank you!
  13. Blossom, have Hubby stick some peanut butter crackers in his pocket. I got there @ 5:30 a.m., on the o.r. table at 1 p.m. DF was ready to eat paint off the walls.
  14. And come Monday, Betty, are you expecting to eat that hamburger bun? It AIN'T gonna happen! LOL Bread is bad, very, very bad!
  15. Betty, You're such a "Loser"! Now, hush up and gum your cottage cheese!:cheeky

  19. Now I really want one! Just think, Teresa, you'll be saving our lives! We'll be exercising more because our head is warm. I'll do more biking, I promise! Really, you should consider selling them! I'll buy! You may have the answer to any money problems right in your talented little fingers!
  20. Bright, I'm a fairly new bandster, but I've always been encouraged by your posts! 70 pounds! Have you tried to lift that amount? That's a lot! That fill dr. should be shaking your hand and congratulating you for "being in the 50% that have lost w/the band!" (I haven't heard those statistics before.) He sounds like a total jerk! Maybe you'll get lucky and find a different one. My dr. draws out before putting in more saline. He says you always draw off less. I don't know, does your body absorb some or is it absolutely impossible to get it all out? I agree w/ you about the annual scope. Isn't it better to have that peace of mind and hopefully head off any problems? You have the same issues I do about "junk food". There's a thread here about Halloween candy slips. And with the holiday season here through New Years, we're all going to have to "encourage" each other!! Americans have that extra "fat" day, Thanksgiving to dodge. Keep looking and find yourself one pretty thing that you like and can wear for the holidays. You're absolutely gorgeous! Please take care of yourself and "talk" with us often. We're all in the same boat. Sending (((hugs))) and encouragement to you across the pond.
  21. I don't think about mine that much. But this last week, havng fill removed for pain, scared me. I don't want to lose my band! I am thinking about it a lot right now. I've eaten w/ a couple of bandsters lately and found it comforting that we didn't have to "explain" anything to each other.
  22. I did the same thing. I guess our bodies are adjusting to just liquids running through. But I can understand your concerns, with previous colon problems. Best of luck to you and for your continued good health!
  23. These are great! Can't wait until I have to prove I'm the person on my driver's license!
