Sneezing ~ Ouch!

It's that time of year! for SNEEZING! :eek and when I do sneeze, it really hurts the area where my port is. I was banded on the 21st of October, so I'm still very tender. How serious could sneezing be to someone newly banded. I was reading how throwing up could possibly cause a problem. Can sneezing? :)

Make yourself a pillow/tummy splint. Take a flat sheet and fold into a square, tape it together compactly and use it to hold over your incisions when you cough or sneeze. Flat sheet is absolutely the best 'cough pillow' ever.

Yeah - I agree - sneezing really really really hurts.

Do what Leatha said and make a 'belly splint' for when you sneeze. Of course, if you're not at home or in your car (I even carried mine in the car) then you're out of luck.

The good news is that the pain subsides. It took me over 3 weeks before I could sneeze or cough without tears welling up in my eyes.

Good Luck - and let us know how you're doing.
