Hey Big Dog, I am home and feeling fine. Some gas here but not to bad. How long did it take for it to start. Maybe if I get ahead of it. Might not be so bad. I am with you just let it rip as they say better out than in. I was thinking of starting the liquid gas stuff before they start. Let me know when to expect it please. Thanks so much I feel so much better, I have been really stressing over this. I know that it is a bad habit and I should quit I had heard from some people that I should quit before surgery and I haven't so I have been really stressed over it. It just makes me feel better to know that I am not the only one. Thanks again, Kathy 4 days to go!!!!

Ok I am 4 days from surgery and I have not quit yet. I know that I need to quit but it is kinda like weight loss for me. Hard, very hard. Anyone out there that smokes? Before surgery? After surgery? Pre surgery nerves even making it harder. Any advise or suggestions from smokers or previous smokers? Thanks

Hi, Everyone I am on the count down 6 more days. I must say I am getting nervous. I have to tell someone that I am, I don't want to share my worries with my family so here I am. I am away from home visiting my middle daughter that is due in June with my first grandaughter. Nevaeh is to be her name, heaven spelled backwards. I guess the closer it gets I like many of you have the feeling of oh my gosh am I doing the right thing. The what if's, and plain old nerves. My daughter lives here with her boyfriend who was born in Mexico, but has been here in Reno since he was 1yr old. Last night I met his mom for the first time and she too was like oh no not Tijuana I wouldn't go there. She speaks english but not real well so it was difficult explaining to her that I have a lot of you telling me of your great experiences there. I am glad with my decision on Dr. Lopez and from all that I have heard I have nothing to worry about. But the closer it gets and with all the negatives that I hear about doing what I am going to do and where I am going to do it. I just think it has my nerves rattled. That is why I am writing today. I need all the support that I can get from all of you. And I new that venting would help. So if I could get some words of encouragement from anyone I would truly appreciate it. I can totally relate, I have not even had my surgery yet and everyday I think about not being able to drink my Diet Coke and coffee every day. OH MY GOSH WHAT WILL I DO!!! Kathy Dr Lopez May 21st Count down!!!!!!!!! 9 dayssssssss

That is what I was afraid of, the headache thing. I am trying to taper off so that it is not so bad after surgery. I am a caffiene freak I guess. No I am not seeing Dr. Ross Fox why? Is that your doctor? I am leaving for Mexico next week the 21st is my surgery date. Dr Lopez is my surgeon. Thanks again,

GeezerSue, Thanks for the info, I plan on giving up my diet coke. I do like Water. But just a creature of habit I guess. Going to start this week less and less each day until surgery. I know that it will be best if I get on the water now. I have done it before and I can do it again. I do like that if I feel like having coffee I can. I am so glad you are home and everything went so well. All of your info was so helpful. Most of all the pre-op diet info. I would really hate to have that poop thing going on!! LOL You really made me feel much better about all of this. Also one of my 3 daughters is having a really tough time with me having this surgery. She is pregnant and due in June. She is my worry wart. I am going to copy your message and send it to her. It will make her feel much better also. Your cell phone didn't work? Who is your carrier? I have AT&T Wireless so just wondering if it is the carrier. I will have to call my AT&T and see what they think. I can't believe you went alone. That must have been so nerve racking for you. If I would have known you before I would have went with you. We could have done the buddy band that would have been fun. Well at least it all went good and you are home now. Keep us all posted. I will save your email and maybe sometime we could talk. Well gotta go for now, you have a speedy recovery and keep me posted. I would love to hear more from you. I am having surgery on the 21st Dr. Lopez and I read some of you are on PO diet and I haven't been told anything on that yet by my doctors office. I have some time yet but I want to start getting prepared. If I can no longer have coffee and diet coke want to start now. Hi not2big42long, I am new at this, but giving it a try. I am having surgery May 21 in Mexico with Dr. Lopez. Are you the one that knows the Dr. in Kirkland that does fills? Hi everyone, I have been reading all the great info on this site for days. My surgery is scheduled for May 21st. I have my plane tickets and now I am just waiting for the day. Getting real close, a little nervous but I have to tell you. Reading all these forums has helped me tremendously. You are all such great support, I am so glad I found this site. Weight has been a issue in my life for as long as I can remember. I finally feel that I have found something that will truly work. And all of you have only confirmed that for me. My wonderful supportive husband of 29 years is accompany me to Mexico, my surgeon is Dr. Lopez. which after reading the forums I am very happy with my choice. I would just like to say thank you to all of you, you are wonderful people and such a comfort to all of us not yet banded but soon to be. Hope everything is going well, I too am getting banded Dr. Lopez May 21 st. How does it feel to be on the other side now? I can't wait to get it done. I am just counting the days. Pre op diet? They never said anything to me. Am I suppose to be eating differently before surgery? Please let me know what it was all like, the Doctor, the hospital, the nurses you know all the good stuff.
