There is a post on here about that very thing. There are very valid medical reasons why you need to follow the post op instructions to the letter. I'll find it for you.

It's scary but it should be. You can do serious damage to yourself by not following your post operative instructions.

Today I went into American Eagle to buy some jeans for my son. While in the store I saw a shirt that I thought was cute so I picked up the XL to try it on....It was too big. I fit into a LARGE!!! I don't remember the last time I fit into a large. When I started my journey I was in a 2x top (and it was tight). YEAH!

The picture on the left is my wife and I, May 2012. The picture on the right this past weekend a combined 160+ pounds lighter. I was banded the end of Feb 2013, my wife had bypass the end of April. So much in our lives has changed... 4 mile walks/jogs, 7 miles hikes, 15+ mile bike rides. And the bedroom... HOT!!!
Getting married, having our kids, and making this change... best things we have ever done!

I had surgery on Dec 19, 2012 and 8 months later I'm down 80 pounds! I reached onederland about a week ago. I've lost more than 50% of my excess weight. Overall it's been a great experience. Just wanted to share this with people that would understand. Very glad I found this forum.

I know it is not exactly a before and after pic......but this picture symbolizes all the surprises I have been coming across while losing the weight.
That watch used to be nice and snug on my wrist.

Banded on April 29th and have lost 60lbs (including pre-op)

So.....I am at a waterpark with my kids and for the first time in my adult life I can fit inside the intertubes and enjoy the rides. I have never been able to squeeze my boobs in them before. This is a huge deal for me and I am having a great time!!!

Omg!! Yes!! I was 5 days late... And I'm NEVER late... So I was freaking out.. Lol...

Today in the shower I noticed I was able to shave certain areas with a lot more ease
I didn't even realize it until I was halfway done - that I wasn't struggling to reach places. My husband will be thrilled

My surgery is day after tomorrow. I was feeling pretty excited and then I saw all this stuff about pain and stuff after. Now I'm kinda scared. I am ready to start this new journey in my life but am def not looking forward to the pain afterwards. We have four kids and my husband is only gonna b off for three days after my surgery. I don't know if he should get a couple more days off or not. HELP!!!

I wish I could say I met goal, bit it's something nearly as good!!! I think I broke my plateau! I've been stuck at the weight I'm at for like 3 mos! I've been working out harder and longer, and sweating like an oinker, and it finally paid off!! I'm the lowest now since I've started this journey! I just need to get in the next lowest 10lb range! Little steps! I'm soooooo excited!
Whew! This is feeling pretty darn good! Clothes looser, I can do more! I'm feeling empowered!!!! Yay Me!!!

It feels really rewarding to fit into clothes I haven't worn in a while, and of course seeing the scale move (even if it's slower now) is awesome... but really am feeling the best part is just how my body feels. more energy, better mood, and while I'm not in the green zone and i'm still very conscious of stopping myself after a band sized portion, I am starting to make waaaaaaaay better food choices in a way that feels more natural and less forced. really feeling pretty great right now!

Fill #3 has put me in the green zone! I have 5cc's in my 10cc band and it did the trick! I'm staying full for a minimum of 4 hours, able to tolerate solids very well and the pounds are melting faster than ever now. I've lost 4lbs in just 3 days (without exercise) and I am so thrilled!!!! I hope you all experience the same results, it is an unbelievable feeling!!!
