Rather than say they are haters, I'd say they were more curious and possibly concerned...and yes...there's some gossiping in there as well. Just remember that when we are very large and loose alot of weight, it's common for those folks who know you as a heavier person to think you have/are losing too much weight. Not so. It's perception. I lost more than half my body weight and lots of people thought I should have stopped losing weight 50 lbs. or more ago.
Besides....our bodies will tell us when we've lost enough. I know mine did and now I'm working hard to maintain that loss. No one says squat about my size or weight loss anymore. After four year, everyone is used to seeing me at a normal size. Period.
I for one am happy that the questions have stopped and I am just who I am. It's my new normal is all and for that alone, I am so grateful.

The boyfriend likes it but I think it tastes chalky and gritty. I'd much rather do regular ice cream in the 100 calorie sizes. Klondike bars makes 100 calorie versions and that works better for me.

This one drives me CRAZY. I bet hundreds if not thousands of people DIE every year because the social stigma against WLS deterred them from getting life-saving surgery.
First of all, we all know there is nothing "easy" about WLS. It's weeks/months of misery and recovery and takes a lifetime of commitment and hard work.
Second of all, even if WLS was "easier" than doing it the "hard way", why is that a bad thing? As a society, don't we strive for efficiency? They are always coming up with ways of making every aspect of life quicker and easier. So why is "easy" bad?
Thirdly, it really seems to be a double-standard when it comes to WLS versus other medically necessary surgery. You never hear anyone saying that getting a knee replacement is the "easy way out". "They should just walk it off and fight through the pain." So why is getting surgery to correct other medical issues okay, but WLS is not?

I want them to check back with those girls in 2 years and see if they kept it off. I hope for the girls' sake they did, but statistics say they won't. That's what the media doesn't get about weight loss. It's not about being able to lose it, it's about being able to keep it off. Frustrating.

My friend LittleBill...and I do consider you a friend as you are a voice of reason when things get stupid on these boards...I respectfully agree to disagree on this one. A good guy with a gun is a cop...and not someone just standing around. If the guy standing around has a gun, he'll likely panic or shoot the wrong people. That too has been proven. Unless there is/are professional law enforcement people everywhere...people will continue to be target practice even if they are just watching a movie, going to school, waiting for their luggage, etc. etc. etc.
And yes, while I am one of those darn liberals....I agree completely that most legal gun owners are fine upstanding law abiding citizens. My second husband carried as a corrections officer and enjoyed target practice immensely. And while he drove me crazy, he wasn't crazy..and he would never do what these 'active shooters' do.

I have metal hips and of course, I can't go through the regular scanner as I set it off every time. So I go through the body scanner and there are always areas that light up other than my hips so pat down, here we go again. I must say that as I know this will happen, I don't make it a big deal...and never have had an issue with a TSA agent. They pat me down...yes, some more thoroughly than others. They always ask if I want to do this in a private room...which I say no to...they run that paper up and down my hands...they're looking for residue related to bomb making. Who knew? I asked a TSA agent about it and she told me. Then I'm on my way. At this point having had the hips replaced three years ago, it is what it is.
Too bad no one thought guns going through checked luggage might be a bad idea. Yup...I'm at the Hollywood/Fort Lauderdale airport several times a year and it was nothing more than timing that I wasn't there when he decided it was target practice time on innocent people.

Having had my own business for 20 years, I can tell you that the restaurant manager handled this incorrectly. A good owner/manager diffuses a situation. They do not ramp it up.
Yes...I had customers who were looking for a fight and I couldn't do a thing about it. But my late husband was a pro at handling unhappy customers and 90% of the time, the end result was a resolution that satisfied both parties...and often led to a return customer...which obviously this restaurant is not so interested in.
Your satisfaction might be when you pass by one day and they are out of business...

Nice to see veteran kindle doing well. I adore seeing great successful stories ... as we know the boards are riddled with inconsistencies, non compliance and sometimes just failures of all sorts.
I take solace in seeing others still on board with being conscious (almost) everyday and continuing to work our individual program
Just a hurrah for those still around. We have lost many by the wayside. Heck. I miss Carolina girl and her no nonsense!

Hey stranger. I was lying here, not able to sleep so thought I'd check out the latest on BP. I did post on here about a month ago. It was my three year surgiversary and I wanted to give an update..... http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/384092-three-years-and-a-lifetime-later/
Things have been going fabulous for me over the last month or so, which is a complete turnaround from the past year and a half. The date I went on in November has evolved into a pretty serious relationship. Something I never expected or was even looking for.
I gotta say, I don't miss the BP drama, But I may check back from time to time and just stay away from the craziness and stupidity. I do enjoy hearing how all the vets are doing. As well as some of the former newbies that are all "grown up" now
Hope all is well with you.

@@gowalking I am about an hour away, near the Lehigh Valley. I grew up in the Poconos. They won't have as much snow as they would in someplace like Mt. Pocono or Blakeslee. We always thought of Stroudsburg and Eastburg as being in the bottom of the bowl. It was always hotter, and they always had less snow back in the day.
Our middle daughter lives out at the other end of the state, as close to OH as East Stroudsburg is to NJ. We spend a lot of time on the road, let me tell you.

East Stroudsburg. They had a summer place up there and liked it so much that they decided to make it their home full time. I hope they make it through the winter though...I don't know how much they realize they are in the Pocono Mountains...and how much that will impact the amount of snow they will be dealing with.
Are you near them...or far far away? I recall so well how big the state of Pennsylvania is when we drove through it a few years ago and wound up at the end of it in Ohio. For a NY'er like me, Ohio might as well be a million miles away. LOL.

Considering how many times I've flipped from fat to thin, I feel compassion mostly.
But it seems that we are most critical of traits we see in others that we dislike in ourselves. So I guess his disdain is a reflection of his fear of going back to being that fat guy again.
