Today I decided that I since I was swimming with friends I would wear a cute bikini top and a black swim skirt. At 70 lbs lost and my best feature being my waist, I felt I deserved it. Well my friends were impressed and I was content. 3 babies and a lapband and I did it. I'm not sure when I will do it again, but I did it. Hip, hip, horray.

You know guys, I don't think I would have made it to this point without all of you. I follow the rules, but still enjoy my food. Got in the green on the first fill! It's been awesome ever since. I have incredible support from my friends and family and you guys of course. But guys, I have been toying With the first 50 for about a week and a half. How amazing is it going to feel to get there! So can I get a hell yeah! I'm going to make it happen. No work. Gotta love being a teacher and getting the summer to focus on me and my kiddos. My next goal is 3o lbs by August or a size 10 dress, whichever comes first. I work out everyday, but it is time to seriously step it up! Love ya'll. I'm a Texas girl! Rock on. I love my band.

Wow that's a horrible, terrifying experience. I'm so very sorry.
One thing I do think is important to point out- your near death experience had nothing to with the Lap Band. It was caused by your surgeon's repeated errors, starting with cutting your liver during surgery and missing the warning signs after.

I experience it differently.....food will sit in my pouch for. Certin period of time...add Water and it will instantly increase the volume in my pouch , perhaps instantly double it...causes a lot of extreme pain, possibly from pouch stretching, and in most cases I will spit everything right back up.
Think of a funnel with a narrow opening....whatever you put in the funnel will flow through the opening, how fast or slow depends upon the size of the opening..(restriction)... Now add Water into the funnel with something already there passing through slowly....what happens...washes it through? More likely, overflow over the top of the funnel....
Of course, if you have a large opening, not in the Green Zone, then I can understand water flushing food through.....all depends upon howmnarrowmthe opening is....
I CANNOT drink while eating without adverse, and possible damaging (dilaton) side effects.
But that's how it is and has been for over 2 years now with me.

It will push the food down into the lower stomach faster. And you'll find that drinking while trying to eat some foods is disastrous. Things will get gummed up and plug the stoma. And when the food can't move through, the esophagus keeps working and working, but the Gummy glob won't go through. Then there's no turning back. Either it comes back up or you sit with the "deer in the headlights look" until it passes through.

Hey Guys. I am so happy to say that since February I have lost my first 50 lbs, no 49, no 47, no 50. Well close enough. Well since school has been out, I have continued exercising and following my lapband rules. I am in the green zone and that is great. Buts the scale is no longer moving. Its been about 4-5 weeks with up and down the same 2 pounds. Seriously people, I was so excited to be in a 12-14 by August and now I know that is not going to happen. I eat about 1000 calories per day. What are some tips you guys have to get things moving again. I would be great to average 1 pound a week at this rate. At least it would be something. Thanks for your help!!
