  1. You are a true inspiration! You have done amazing work and congratulations on all of your accomplishments and future endeavors as well! Merry Christmas & Happy New Years to you!!
  2. I proudly gave up on bread and I eat pizza toppings minus the crust. I still eat some meat but it's completely normal to feel that way after eating bread some meat and some vegetables. It's all a learning experience what works for others may or may not work for you! Best of luck!
  3. I have Federal BCBS and they only require BMI <40 co-motilities for >40 3 months supervised diets with a dietician and of course other weight loss attempts. My surgeon documented all of those for me and I was approved after submitting the paper work in about 5 days. I paid $100.00 to the hospital and $150.00 to my surgeon! I hope this helps best of luck!
  4. You are such a great inspiration.. I am also anemic and I know how you feel Brrrr.... I had a complete unfil in Oct and my first re-fil on Dec 3. I was able to eat anything I wanted to on Thanksgiving and boy did the scale show it, I was not happy with the weight gain but now I am losing again becoming more active in working out!! Congrats to you at almost being at goal weight!
  5. I didn't get neck pain but continue taking your pain meds by day 4 I felt normal. The recliner and lots of bed pillows should help also! Good Luck!!
  6. That sounds like the gas they use you have to walk walk walk flap your arms like a crazy chicken and I also used the dissolvable gas X strips...
  7. I told my boss "procedure" but if I was asked by other co-workers I said hernia repair surgery as well. My Mom had her hernia surgery the month before my lap band surgery and we had the same laparoscopic incisions minus the port of course and almost the exact same post-op diet. The only difference is that I heeled in about 4 days and she needed the full week to recover! There is nothing wrong with a little lie to the non-important people
  8. My 10yr old and I did day one last night she said "oh Mom that looks easy" tried it and collapsed at 10secs I laughed so hard we completed day 1!! my upper body is sore but its a great feeling ready for todays plank!
  9. @Missy would have loved to see her face! #priceless ok my Thanksgiving NSV was being able to complete my first 5K turkey trot!! I may not have had the best time but I jogged it and I finished it!! Go Me!!
  10. Speaking of Thanksgiving firsts I ran my first 5K on Thanksgiving morning! I have come a long way even though it took 47 mins I was able to do a slow jog the entire time!! My kids ran a 1K also starting new healthy traditions as exercise was the last thing we did in our family especially on holidays!
  11. I will try this also! Thanks!
  12. That is a wonferful NSV thanks for sharing!
  13. Well my surgeon has F/ups week 1 & 4 then a monthly visit for the 1st year and every 3 months year 2 then as needed we all have lives to so I picked my surgeon for this reason and it's 1 day a month for about 30 minutes time well spent!
  14. I'm sorry to hear this! Thank God my Surgeon does lap bands only!! I wanted him because I did not want another surgeon to tell me I need bypass or sleeve incase I want another child in the future! My Drs office staff 3 are all his lap band patients and his wife is one of his RNs and participated in the surgery and does fills! I hope you find someone that's worth a little further drive take care!!
  15. Ok I have been a huge fan of before & after photos but with this new layout I'm finding it impossible to know which success stories/pics are from lapband patients vs. other wls? Of course it doesn't matter now that I have already chosen a wls that works for me but when I was starting out the pics were such motivation... On to Great Things...today 11/15 is my 32nd Birthday and I was banded on 03/04/13 best decesion EVER!! I have lost over 60lbs and I am almost at Goal!!
  16. The ring is gorgeous Missy! My reward is a non-plus sized wedding dress to wear next July!!
  17. NaNa is right when my band is too tight I can't get food or liquids down and I cough or vomit during the night feels like I'm choking on water.. An unfil will have instant relief so call your surgeon and give them your symptoms!
  18. What an awesome job you have a very noticable little waist! Your Rocking your Band!
  19. Looking good keep up the great work!
  20. You look Amazing... Kicking ass Girlfriend!
  21. Maybe the BMI is a scale victory but I have plenty of NSV's... loving myself in photo's again, towels that fit, all the clothes in my closet that are falling off and the belt that I'm wearing today needs a hole added because its too big!! I love my band!!
  22. I love how according to the BMI calculator I am finally no longer Obese but now overweight! I will take this since I have been obese my whole adult life!! OMW to normal weight!! BMI before band 41.3 BMI today 29.4
  23. CG my thoughts exactly!!
  24. I don't have the surgey date ticker either once I had the procedure I deleted it! Could you maybe add the info as a signature like on Missy's post above??
