Food getting stuck?

Recommended Posts

I had my surgery 14th october 2013 and started with 4ml in my band, i had my first fill 3 weeks ago so i now have 5ml in my band, since my fill i sometimes get the feeling that food is stuck in my chest an after 30secs or so it goes away. It is only certain foods such as meat an bread.. Im scared food will cause a blockage, is this possible??

Yes it can-will....coincidental meat and bread products were the first foods I gave up altogether....but I learned the hard way......

That's a que to eat slower and chew more. I have had a band for five years and it still happens when I get in a hurry. bread is the primary culprit, so I try to stay away from it.

I hardly eat bread because no matter how slow an how much i chew always feels stuck so i could prob give that up, i love meat tho and havent had any red meat (steaks or roast beef)since my op... I do eat slow i guess il try slower an smaller bites i find eating habits the hardest thing to change since the op

I proudly gave up on bread and I eat pizza toppings minus the crust. I still eat some meat but it's completely normal to feel that way after eating bread some meat and some vegetables. It's all a learning experience what works for others may or may not work for you! Best of luck!

bread will get stuck, adn some meats, too! I, also, learned the hard way with roast beef on a roll. Until you have slimed and not stopped, you will not really understand, "the hard way". Best of luck, try not eating breads and soem meats, and take smaller bites, too! Steaks, and beefs are particularly hard for us bandsters. Karen...aka..kll724

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
