  1. Love Zumba!!! Everyone should try it.
  2. I'm 15 days post op n am wondering; how do I know when to get a fill? I guess I'll feel hungry but I don't get it. If we're eating small portions shouldn't we get use to that n not need a fill. My doc said he gave me a small fill at time of surgery and I'll get a fill @ 4 weeks post op. So I've been eating 1 cup of food about 3 times a day n 1 snack a day (bout 1/2 a cup or fruit blended) I make sure most of it is protein n I pretty much feel satisfied. When I get hungry I eat. Why would I all of a sudden start feeling extra hungry again? Honestly I'm a little scared to get a fill because I don't want to get that stuck feeling ( whatever that is) n I read peeps say their band is too tight n what not. I know if I tried I could eat more but I'm stopping at my 1 cup limit.
  3. Thanks y'all for the feed back.
  4. My surgery was @ 6:30 am and I was back home at 2. Luckily I had my sis whom helped take care of me
  5. By the way lauriegee did you work out a lot? I love Zumba n am planning to go back several times a week in bout a week. I'm 5 feet n my goal weight is 130.
  6. Wow. Congratulations on your weight loss!!!
  7. Does insurance cover tummy tucks. I've heard yes but how does this work?
  8. Agree with Jen. Missing records are your docs office. Which med records r missing n call that doc n have them 're forward to your surgeon. It's not the insurance it's whoever has those med records. I have blue cross n it only took about a week to get an approval once they received all my medical records
  9. I know right. What is lying horizontally anyway? My kids n hub said laying on your side would b horizontally but if I.
  10. I've been wanting to only have it as a treat anyway but I'm just curious
  11. I am curious. The paperwork I read for after surgery states I should not eat red meat for 3 months. Any one else out there been told the same thing.
  12. What's the problem with laying down horizontally n the band? I know I have read or seen there's a problem , but what is it? That's how I use to sleep. Since my band 2 weeks ago I have been laying on my back.
  13. Hi Jimmy. Claudia here. This is a very scary episode that happened to u n sorry things turned out that way they did. Just curious did you have to do a liquid diet before surgery? I hear some people do n some don't. I had a two week liquid diet n I was told it was to shrink the liver for a safe surgery n so the organs could b nice n firm. Either way you say you'd like to eat healthier to live to see your grandkids. My husband is 41 years old n had to get on a diet for back surgery. I suggested weight watchers; it worked for me as long as I followed the program. He's been doing a great job at it as I have been a great help with portion control, n still cooking a lot of the food he loves to eat. We are both trying to cut most red meat out n maybe have it as a treat. Edither way, weight watchers allows you to eat anything as long as you stay within the limits they give you. Oh by the way everyone thinks it's funny that my husband's on a diet since he's this big Mexican gangster looking man, n has always ate anything hes wanted. He's never been this overweight but has been on disability for about 9 months n has become a board couch potatoes. Good luck to u n a successful weight loss journey.
  14. Good luck. Prayers go out to u n ALL Jan. Bandsters!!!
  15. Change up your routine or what you eat. Our bodies get use to the same old stuff. Like maybe just do cardio or something like that. Eat some oatmeal instead of egg. Just examples. High protein also is good n a necessity. Good luck to you
  16. When I went to surgery all my mom could say was " Lord you know what your daughter is getting into" this decision was one of the hardest I had to make. I'm down 20 pounds n feels good.
  17. Y'all r too sweet. Thanks. Trust me I have learned. I know the banded life has so many rules to follow n I have to follow them to b successful. I want my health. Trust me I have four beautiful children, a great husband, supportive friends, and family members whom I love. I don't want to let them down but most importantly I don't wanna let myself down!!! Thanks for the support. It is truly wonderful to have so many experienced people like all of you for support.
