I was told the same as TMF. I was never told it was off limits, just to be really careful when eating it because it tends to be tougher to chew thoroughly.

No. I was told to be careful with red meat as some new bandsters may have difficulty swallowing red meat. But, it's never been a problem food for me as long as I take small bites and chew well.

I am curious. The paperwork I read for after surgery states I should not eat red meat for 3 months. Any one else out there been told the same thing.
