    Upset for the first time...

I told pretty much everyone about my surgery because i was so excited about it. I think the fact that i always told people about and was always confident in my decision i never really got any negativity. My mom was a little worried at first but only because she didnt know much about it, but never said one neg thing about it and her and my dad, and my husband were with me on surgery day. I wouldnt worry about what people say....when they see how great you are going to do, they wont have much to say. I dare someone to tell me i took the easy way out. There is NOTHING easy about having surgery, and watching every single thing that goes in your mouth, and chewing a million times, exercising, etc....we do the same thing that people that dont have the band do. We watch what we eat, we exercise, we work hard too. The only difference is we have a tool that allows us to eat alot less of those foods! Hold uour head high in your decision....you are saving your own life!! Xoxo
  3. Mine didnt really get heavier i dont think but my cramps...OMG.....they got 10 times worse :/

    Port revision question

I havent had this experience but i just wanted to wish you luck. I wouldnt think you had to go back on liquids like the original surgery because its just your port thats being replaced and not the actual band but im not 100% sure. Be sure and ask your doctor tomorrow

    LET'S TALK PIZZA.

Pizza was my all time favorite before being banded and believe it or not ive only had it twice since being banded (thin crust) its too annoying to chew so much so my craving for it has slowly went away

    eating red meat after surgery

I was never told not to eat red meat but like most others, i was told to be careful and chew real good. I have only tried to eat steak once since being banded and was only able to get down about 2 little bitty pieces. The rest i couldnt chew well enough so i spit it out. I dont really have a problem with any type of meat as long as its not over cooked. Believe me, if i cant chew it up to almost liquid, its getting spit out...lol.
  9. Getting the lapband was the absolute BEST thing that i have ever done for myself. I have lost 23 lbs in 2 months and im just 18 lbs away from my goal of 125. Im wearing clothes that i love and that i never thought i would fit into ever again. Im seriously just over the moon! I will post some before and after pics when i reach my goal and then its........Cancun this summer!!! ))) to everyone that is just starting or having regrets after surgery, just hang in there. I swear to you it gets better and soooo much easier. Just hang on and you will see. Hope everyone has a blessed week. Xoxo Angela
  10. When i had a personal trainer, i was always told that muscle burns fat. Uf you are gaining muscle mass, you are burning fat at the same time. Of course muscle weighs more than fat so even if you are not losing on the scale, i bet those inches are melting away. Congrats!
  11. So i start regular food soon and im so nervous and scared about getting stuck. I know to eat slow, small bites, and chew chew chew but im still scared about it. Does it hurt? Will i be able to get it unstuck? What happens if it doesnt pass thru or come up? These are the thoughts that are in my head right now..lol. Any advice other than the obvious?

    SO CONFUSED. Doctors...Procedures..oh my!!!

I used true results in richardson too and didnt meet my surgeon until 5 min before i was being wheeled in for surgery. Dr. Benevides was my surgeon. Just call and request to meet with him. They have a complete after care facility that will care for you after surgery. This is where you will go to get your fills, unfills and any other problems you may have (its in the same building as the surgery center and where you went for your consultation). They are awesome. You will only go to Dr. Benevides office one time for your follow up appt and then if you have any major problems that aftercare can not deal with. I promise you will be taken care of from beginning to end with true results. Amanda is great isnt she? You will also meet Katie...she works in dr. Benevides office and she is just sweet as can be! Good luck to you

    Pain/recovery compared to c/section?

The lapband hurt a little more than my c sections just because of the horrible gas pains that i had but it lasted way less time than my c sections. Dont worry...you will do fine. Just remember to walk alot and sip, sip, sip. Oh yeah and take your pain meds on time

    Straw question

Some people say that drinking with a straw causes more gas to be inhaled which makes it painful but i drink with a straw all of the time and it doesnt bother me. I sip of course

    I want to cry. :(

What you are feeling is totally normal. Go to my profile and read some of my posts about how i felt right after surgery. I cried every single day for almost 2 weeks. Once i started eating regular food, my emotions and hormones got under control and i felt sooooo much better. Hang in there.....i promise you will feel better soon and you will not regret getting your band. Xoxo Angela
  19. I always hear people talking about it...what does that stand for? Merry Christmas to everyone

    Energy

Right after surgery, i was super weak and tired until i started eating solids. Liquids were killer for me. I still have some days where im tired but much better than right after surgery.

    Feeling Down After Surgery!!!

Oh girl if you only knew how depressed i was for a good 2 weeks after surgery you would laugh..lol! I cried every day. Its totally normal and i promise you it will get better. You have to tough these 2 or 3 weeks out and as soon as you can eat regular foods, you will feel sooo much better. As far as the gas goes, walking was the only thing that helped me. Hang in there
