Anyone have any good menu ideas for a vegetarian with lap band? I have no problem eating my green. Just struggling with the "lean" Thanks!

I've been looking into the Lap Band for a very long time. I was in pre op in 2011 when they had to stop everything because my test came back PREGNANT! At the time the cost of the surgery was $7500. Well I've saved the money and now the price has gone up to $8500. I've contacted a few other places and they all tell me to go for the Sleeve. I don't feel comfortable with that and told them I don't want a part of my body removed. They responded with " The band also alters your body, and it causes scar tissue, and the failure rate is 47%." They also stated that they don't do the band anymore because they end up taking them out of their prior patients. I know the places I've been looking use the 4cc band which I heard are no longer used in the US. I really had my heart set on the band, I feel like im starting off failing. Do you think they are just doing a sales pitch? Should I stick with my first plan? Thanks!

I was looking into surgery over a year ago at the price was in the $7000 so I've saved the $7000, NOW the cost is $8500. AHHH does anyone know of a surgeon in DFW that is under $8000? Mexico is not an option. Thank you!

Hey im preband and im looking for some support. Can you share your reasons for getting the band and if you've reached that goal, and how did it make you feel? I'm looking forward to sitting in a normal sized chair, and my seat belt fitting.

I'm currently preband. Right now I need to eat 1800 calories to lose weight, after getting the band, im required to eat only 800-1200 calories. What stops my body from going into starvation mode?
