lunch and dinner meal ideas for work ??
How bout using a crock pot. I love the fact that I come home n dinner is ready. Separate them in 1 cup portions n freeze them for lunch. Just throw your favorite veggies in it n your protein n season. Very very easy.

Crockpot
That's what I would suggest also. Google crock pot recipes or get an app. I love just throwing chicken n veggies or beef before I leave home. The only seasoning I use are garlic salt, season all seasoning, and chicken bouillon. By the time I get home dinners ready.

someone please scare me!!!
Appreciate the responses. I guess I should have posted how I felt before I did what I did. I just spend a couple minutes reading about damage I could have done and I didn't realize I could cause complications now nor later as band slippage. Ya not only is this scarry but I could loose my band. I didn't realize that a small amount of food could ruin what I have wanted all my life...to b thin. Wow I feel like crying now. I'm gonna call by docs tomorrow n have a confession session with him.

someone please scare me!!!
So I'm on day 13 post-op n have been having more n more BLT'S. I should b having mushy food only. I want someone to scare me cause I'm not sure what type of damage I could b doing. Overall I'm doing well on my mushys but for instance last night I made some chicken n had a couple bites n today I had 1 teriyaki chicken wing. I feel like I have no restrictions. I have been following the 1 cup 3-4 Times a day n my doc said he tightened my band a little at surgery. I won't see him till another week.

- January 2013 Bandsters Unite
Hi y'all. I was banded on the 2nd of this month (12 days) and just want to congratulate all the new n soon to bandsters n wanted to talk a little bit of everything that I have been reading on this thread n a little bout what I have been going through. Apparently I'm still in the healing stage but I feel like I'm back to normal. So at the hospital I received lots of pain killers during n before surgery. I also got a patch for nausea that last 72 hrs n it literally did. Up to day 3 I felt okay. Very little gas pain, very little incision pain n no nausea. Once my patch reached its third day I was very nauseated for about 2 days n could barely even drink from the nauseated feeling. Day 6 felt much better n got an appetite. Day 7 I felt hungry bout every 2-3 hours. My doc told me I could have blended foods now n to have lots of blended protein so it would last.I'm not gonna lie I have been cheating some n have had some food not blended. Hope I haven't done any harm. Bout the whole bathroom thing I was constipated until I started eating blended foods that included veggies n some fruit. N ya going pee was weird once I got home from the hospital. I would go n stop n felt like my bladder was still full but I sat until I finished. So my doc told me I had a small fill at surgery n to come for my first fill 4 weeks after surgery. I really feel no restrictions but I'm trying to teach myself to eat slow. Bout 30 min per meal. I have been eating 1 cup of food 3-4 Times a day n overall feel satisfied. When I'm hungry I eat. I had gained 4 lbs right after surgery n since then have lost 8 making it a total of 17 lbs down since my pre-op diet (almost 4 weeks) Well this has been my journey so far. Good luck n a safe recovery to all of us. My prayers are with each one of you everyday.- Be Honest- Is Banded Life Hard?
- itchy insitions
Thanks y'all. I was just worried cause around the incisions is red n swollen. This morning my whole stomach was itching n now there's a rash...ewww. sorry for being so graphic but I'm a little nervous. Maybe cause I had some bacon yesterday or idk. Has anyone had any new allergic reactions.- New rules!
Same here. I saw a video where the doc said it didn't matter but I'd still go with docs orders- My biggest regret
Hi. I'm kinda new but am curious about what you said. The doc said the band may have slipped. So by him unfilling it, will that make your band go back to its place? I thought removal or an adjustment was the answer to that?- itchy insitions

Well I have never had surgery before but am wondering if it's normal for my incisions to b so itchy. I know as they are healing they itch but man, they really really itch. Now they are a little swollen around the outside. Should I worry??- Grocery savings?
I agree with saving money. Not going to fast food as much, eating less or hardly any read meat, and not buying the extra soda n snacks has saved some. We do have more left overs but I will freeze small portions to pull out on a later day.- banding tomorrow morning
I'm doing so much better as of day 6 post-op. I was very nauseated n I am on blended foods now. The weight hasn't dropped much and trying to find high Protein satisfying food. It's been a little struggle but overall I feel good. Not too tight n don't get a fill for three weeks. I'm practicing to eat slow right now. How are you doing?- YAY!!! 1st fill today
Wow congratulations. I can't wait to b there. I won't get a fill till week 4 post-op but doc said I had a small fill at surgery. Ya I'm starving at times but he said if I'm hungry to eat. Just keep up high Protein to stay satisfied longer n lots of Water. I'm eating bout 3/4 cups about 4-5 Times a day. Hope that's fine.- streched pouch
B52 how many oz of protein shake do you have. I tried drinking 8 oz today mixed with ff milk, 2tablespoons of plain yogurt n a banana n felt satisfied at about 4 oz so I stopped.- streched pouch
I'm only seven days banded n am curious. So does this mean you need to go for a fill. N just how much are you ladies eating. I've heard the average amount Is about 1 cup. My doc said I should see him in 3 weeks n that I barely got a fill during surgery. I feel satisfied at about 3/4 cup of food n am trying to keep the high protein to stay satisfied longer.- 5 days post-op
Us 5 days seems like along time. Without protein ya it gonna b starving. I was on creamy soups n was told to make it with ff milk n I should enrich my milk with nonfat powder for the added protein. I was extremely nauseated but once I started on the soups felt way better. I'm on my 7 day pre op n have been approved to now have blended food. Feels even better, but I do have to eat slow. I barely have any fill n doc said if I'm hungry to eat. I can barely get about 3/4 of a cup in n feel satisfied but if I don't have the protein I'm starving again in just about 2 hours. Total new way of eating. Cassieb sorry to hear it still in the hospital. Keep in touch with your progress. N I'll say a prayer for you! Feel better!! - January 2013 Bandsters Unite
