  1. I have a colored gel overlay on my nails. I had to have one removed. They told me it was because of the oxygen sensor they stick on your finger and also if they saw my nail bed turning blue big warning sign for lack of oxygen. So I had to take the pesky thing off.
  2. 3oz of grilled beef patty and a mini cucumber salted.
  3. Well thank you! I do feel great and I'm just trucking along!
  4. Not too long...12/21/12.
  5. I just had my first alcoholic drink since pre op diet. I had two glasses of wine at a tavern grand opening this past weekend. I had eaten but what I didn't expect is that I was almost fall down drunk on those two glasses. Now I used to be able to throw down shots with the best of them and hold my own. I don't know if it had to do with being banded or that I haven't had any alcohol in two months but WOW! I won't be doing that again too soon! :-)
  6. I would so be all over this! Thanks for sharing!
  7. My doc is of the six week variety and the first fill they do is aggressive at 4 cc's in a 10 cc band. But my band has been ok from day 1 with no fill so I opted to pass on that (for now).
  8. CG - you deserve all those compliments and have worked hard for them. I'm glad you are having such a great day!
  9. Thank you ladies! At 52 down now. 2 more pounds and I'll be at the halfway mark to my final goal. Yipppeeee! :-)
  10. I've been looking into Zumba. No available classes that I can get to after work so I'm looking into doing it at home. I also have the Wii and was looking at that or the DVDs...not sure which one ill get but it definitely looks fun! And I have done the Just Dance..,I was sweating up a storm on that too!
  11. I hear ya. I don't feel like what I actually looked like. But then I put my current pics next to my pre op. it's embarrassing and I looked awful. Much better now although I still have weight to lose.
  12. I love asparagus too. Haven't had it since surgery though. But when I do eat it I like it super skinny and well roasted to the point that its pretty much crispy. Hopefully I won't have any issues eating it like that but only time will tell.
  13. Thanks all!!! :-). I really appreciate the support!
  14. Banded 12/21. Stepped on the scale this morning to find that pesky 1/2 lb gone so I made it to the big 50lbs lost goal. Next goal is 54lbs and that will mean I'm half way there with 54 more to go. Went from a size 20/22 pant and 3XL top and 44D bra to a comfortable 16 pant, 1X top and back to my usual 38C bra (why do they suddenly look so small? :-)) I'm a happy camper. Got the clearance this past Thursday for weight lifting and crunched so I can start to tone up those jiggly parts!
  15. I just saw my doc this past Thursday and he told me I was able to start taking pills after my 4th week post op. however I don't have any fills or fluid in my band. I bought some Tylenol caplets in case I need them but all my vitamins and fiber are gummies.
  16. I didn't. I was home the same day. Surgery at 1pm and walked in my door at 7pm.
  17. I had my op in Hoffman Estates at Alexian Brothers. Suburban Surgical Care is the bariatric facility and my doc is Dr. John Kane Jr.
  18. My doc had very specific instructions during every phase...1/4 cup during full liquids 6 times per day, 1/4 - 1/2 5 times per day during mushies, 1/2 - 3/4 about 4-5 times per day and then 3/4 - 1 cup 3 times per day on solids. Everyone is different.
  19. I'm with you! I say roll with it and save the fills for when you really need them because I'm sure one day we will! :-)
  20. I suppose it depends on if you are getting hungry in between the meals you do eat. If not, consider yourself one of the lucky ones. I was banded 12/21. I still have no fill. I eat 3oz of protein 3 times a day. I'm satisfied but not 'full' but I stay this way for 4-5 hours before getting hungry again. So I figure I'm pretty lucky. Maybe you are too? :-)
  21. Original south sider here now residing in Belvidere. :-)
  22. I don't know about others but I had to get the upper GI after surgery and I turned to see the 'X-ray' screen and I had about 2-3 coils worth of slack on my tubing. I don't think any amount I eat would be able to pull and cause tension on that! :-)
