LapbandLo got a reaction from kramsay1980 in I'm Curious as to Why....
I think most of us are capable to lose weight. Were all professional dieters. The problem is we do it over and over and over again only to gain all the weight back plus some. The band is a tool that helps keep it off. At least that's what I have read the most being a new bandster and all. I'm hoping this is the last time I'll ever see these numbers!

LapbandLo got a reaction from JOANNE M HOLL in LapBand Bound Jan. 2014
Hi Velvet
I'm sorry to hear you don't have much support from home. I'm a little over a month out and I'm already 100% positive this is the best thing I've done for myself!
Keep reading and do your research to determine if this is the right thing for you. It took me 2 1/2 years total from figuring that out, to insurance requirements, and pre-op stuff but when you're ready it's the best feeling!
The Lapband talk community is an awesome place to read, ask questions, and meet new people all going through the same thing.
I wish you well.

LapbandLo reacted to DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! in Honesty .... I'm scared. . Were you?
I honestly wasn't afraid because I did the research and knew what I needed to do to be successful. I also knew what not to do to avoid slips and erosion.
Getting the band is the best decision I've ever made. I've lost over 230 pounds in about 20 months. I can still eat whatever I want just in smaller quantities. My life with the band is awesome.
Education is your best defense against complications.

There's probably less than a 1% chance of erosion and mostly, that would be self inflicted imo.
I had a 100% chance of continuing to be miserable and in constant pain if I remained obese. My odds of dying early were greatly increased due to my diet and large amount of body cavity fat. My painful knees wouldn't allow me to walk over one block. I'll take the small chance that I might have an eroded band, or a prolapse, dilated pouch, slipped band, over living the life I led 2 years ago.
I've never questioned my decision and would not want to go back. I'm one happy camper.
