I came to this site because I thought that this would be a wonderful place where I would be surrounded by a group of my own peers. I have posted many questions that I had questions about or had minimal knowledge on. I have received very good advice and some advice I thought sounded nice, I followed up with my doctor on. I mean it is awesome to get advice from others, but who knows what best for you besides the person who placed this remarkable tool inside of us??
We have all been forewarned about the dangers of not following the rules that was given to us. If you have orders from your doctor by all means FOLLOW THEM. Don’t take matters into your own hands and when something bad happens, you freak out.
Everyone has an OPIOION!! Do you have to agree? NOT AT ALL. Most people who do cheat their bands/themselves often look for confirmation from another person who will come out of nowhere and agree with them. I feel personally some question should not be asked on this site; especially ones that promote controversy in a bad way.
Example, I was just banded and I am hungry. So I ate some lunch meat.< /p>
You were advised against it but insisted on doing your own thing. How can you expect not to receive feedback with someone trying to make you accountable for your mistake? Not everyone is going to say something nice to glorify your wrong-doing. Before you judge a statement try to understand it for the other persons prospective. Let’s just go back to being helpful by sharing experiences that are helpful to one another. I am almost 90% sure no one on here is purposely being malicious but simply helpful.
Always remember, When you are typing it’s hard to tell someone’s tone. So when in doubt, just say thank you for your input and move one.
(I had to vent and I wanted to share with everyone. I don’t like seeing my friends being verbally attacked for stating an opinion. Sometimes you just have to learn how to AGREE TO DISAGREE. An opinion is like an Ass, Everyone has one and you are not always going to like sh*t it comes with. ) Have a nice night.

I just went to GNC and got Isopure. LIFE CHANGER. Tastes like juice (slight after taste but totally worth it for getting in the protein!)

Before surgery I tried a few and new which ones I'd use but now 2 days post op I mix one up and I can't bare to finish it. Tastes gross... I'm so tired and sore and this gas pain in my shoulder is annoying the crap out of me. I am living off of maybe 3/4 cups of Protein Shake a day and then Jello, crystal light, and Popsicles will I be ok?

Thanks for sharing!! I know I need to start using some arm weights or my chicken wings are going to scare small children LOL

Hi everyone I am just now waiting for my wheelchair to get here because I've been discharged.
Surgery went great according to what the surgeon told my mom but I was in a lot of pain once I woke up in recovery. They pumped me full of meds. Gas pain is mild in my shoulders but it hurts to try to get a cleansing breath. Hopefully this goes away soon, more annoying that painful.
I am quite nauseous because I haven't eaten since before 10PM last night. All I know is I can't wait for some Jello and sugar free Popsicles as soon as I get home.
I am officially in band land!!!!

I'm still here waiting to to into surgery. Talk about Nerves getting worse!!!

I know I will forever fight battles with food, but I know this was the best decision I have ever made! I am so happy and have so much energy! You feel like a new person when you eat right and take care of yourself. I knew when I decided to have LapBand surgery that this was it! This was my last chance to lose weight After all my failed attempts at every diet known to man. I can't wait to see where my life goes now! I remind myself everyday EAT TO LIVE. DON'T LIVE TO EAT! Good luck to the ones that are about to have surgery!!!! We can do this!!!!!!

Less than 24 hours we will be at home on the couch and newly banded! Lol!!

I personally would highly recommend the Lap Band. Unlike Gastric Bypass or the Sleeve, it doesn't re-route your healthy intestines nor does it hack out 3/4 of your stomach. Plus, with the Lap Band there's no dumping, more malabsorbtion issues, and it's reversible. At your age, I personally wouldn't want do anything so drastic as the Sleeve or Gastric Bypass. Heck, I'm almost 20 years older than you and I could justify doing anything that drastic to my body either.
I have lost 195 pounds in 14 months and I'm still losing. I absolutely love my band, it's the best decision I've ever made for myself. My only regret is that I didn't do it many years sooner.
Educate yourself on the Lap Band. Learn what to expect, what not to expect, and what you'll have to do to succeed. Education will be your best asset when making this decision and facts should weigh more heavily on your decision than any anecdotal evidence you may see here.

I just had my last real splurge. Round table pizza! A couple of slices of chicken garlic. Yummy! I am pretty sure the past 3 weeks I've had a taste of everything I think I'd miss in case it's never the same, lol.
Tomorrow as of 8:30am I have to eat only soft foods and then after midnight nothing at all not even water! Surgery is scheduled for around 930-10 on Tuesday AM!!! Yay!!! I'm around the corner and almost to Bandville!!!
