  1. Leatha, you always say the words that are trapped in my head! "It's very open and pourous which causes it to just do what the heck it wants." That's what I've been trying to say for 30 years but couldn't get the words out. I guess porous hair holds a lot of invisible moisture, which is why it gets so poofy and frizzy. This gadget is cool cuz you can see the steam leaving your hair - even when my hair has been dry all day. You'd think someone would invent a shampoo to keep the moisture out, not in! I'm loving my new thingy.

Oh, first those happy pics and Paula's cute new face, then Jack's doll... but Michelle, that's horribly sad. You've been through too much already. Your lil Jack must be really sick from losing his best friend.
  3. I haven't tried a curling iron, and I probably won't. I suck at doing hair. I've never been good at hair styling and usually just end up in a pony tail. My hair is horrible to manage cuz a lot of cows licked my head, so it's just all wirey.
  4. Teresa, how do you do it? What's your secret to not eating at night? You're going crazy with weight loss... how about some new pictures?
  5. The mind is a brilliant thing to waste - did I say that right?
  6. Geeze, just when I think it's safe to post a picture, the thing springs a huge leak! Better luck next time! But the local surgeon said draining is a good thing... then again, he's the one that likes to hurt people. Hi T!
  7. So, Michelle and Zoe... are you saying I should make an appointment for a fill? Kinda like smokers who want the bus to come, so they light up?
  8. I should pound ice water at night, but I have a lifetime history of insomnia. Sleep is such a precious commodity that I hate doing anything to interrupt it, so I avoid drinking anything after work. Like this morning, hubby's alarm went off too loud at 3:15 a.m., and I wasn't able to go back to sleep. So I'm at work early, which is okay, but come the afternoon I can't cope. Maybe I'll just suck ice cubes?

We have a tie... how about some more votes? Sept. 2 & 3 Kylie Penni Sept. 9 & 10 Greg Neicy
  10. As ugly as it looks, it looks better than it has in 8 months! Thank you girls, really... where would I be without you? Donali, Chris says, "All pie's good, some's better than others, but it's all good." Thanks for the pie!
  11. I've used tons of irons (straight and curling) over the years. This one is sleek - the iron pad things are only about an inch wide. I used some Paul Mitchell "Anti Snap" first. But this doesn't burn your hair the way metal irons do. Hard to explain, cuz the metal irons catch on the split ends and you can actually hear them snapping. This one is all ceramic, through and through, so you can see a little steam as you iron (which is just the moisture coming out of your hair.) I'll be the guinea pig and take another pic in a month to see if there's any damage - but my hair is naturally damaged anyway. I love this little iron. There's probably a picture at TruCeramicPro.com. Thank you for the compliments. I used to have more Chins than a Chinese phone book, but now I only have a couple!

Those faces! Heaven sent them, Heaven took them back.
  13. It's such an awesome feeling when I log on and see new people that say they've been following my posts. Thank you! It has been a long journey, and it's not over yet. I wish like anything that I can keep my band, but I have to prepare for the worst while hoping for the best. Here's a picture of what my wound looks like today. It's really been through a lot (3 surgeries already.) It closed up yesterday but just sprung a little leak. If it closes, I'll be thrilled. Peace.
  14. Who else is brave enough to post a pic with no makeup? HUH? Now here's my ad for TruCeramicPro....... it truly rocks, and even I can do it! I feel pretty and witty and gayyyyyyyyyyyy! So good to be out of the closet!
  15. OH MY GOSH... that song, I can't believe you posted that song! I have a black and white picture of me in a too-too with no front teeth from a ballet recital.... the song we did was "I Feel Pretty." Okay, you asked for pics... here's me before with what my hair looks like naturally.

Not many things beat a puppy sleeping in a basket, do they? Well, I guess a whole basket full of them could top it. I was really offended when Babs took the baby home last night. Geeze, some people! I want to see more puppy pics... post, please!

Just wanted to share our new baby... well, it's really Chloe's, but since Chloe practically lives here, looks like we have a new baby to love. Meet Cooper. I don't like the name, but it's what Chloe calls it. It's Shitzu and Beagle.
  18. But WHY? I need LapBand PM.
  19. I just wrote in another thread that I have one of those slow-release fills that works great at lunch, but peters out by dinner. A protein shake is all I can handle in the mornings, and I'm never really hungry by lunch, but I eat anyway. Lunch goes down slow and fills me up fast. Then dinner gets easier. An hour after dinner, I'm wide open for goodies... I think I need a goody vitamin, cuz my body seems to think it's lacking. I could eat a whole pig slop of goodies right this minute, which is why I'm lingering at work and not going home. Home is a dangerous place for me. Nothing like a grown woman being afraid of her own house.
  20. I got one of those slow-release fills. It works great at lunch, okay at dinner, but then goes away in the dirty night hours. I should get famous by discovering the correlation between dark and junk food. Maybe I should move to Alaska where it's always light. Why doesn't my fill work late at night?????
  21. What's up with the healthy food struggling to go down, while the goodies slide down like buttah? Geeze, can't anything be easy? Good to see you, Neicy, it's been awhile. If anything, I'm relieved that I have answers. It was scary and lonely walking around with a tube sticking out of me, that's for sure. I haven't even mentioned the wobbly weirdo scar I have now. It's got a peanut at one end and a hole at the other. But better a scarred belly than a flabby one? The wound was still open and draining like mad as of yesterday. Today it's closed over, but I can feel her ready to blow.
  22. Blagh... not feelin' very pretty these days... I just have straight hair. How about if I send yoons a lock-o-hair, from my chest?
  23. Wade, I'm right there with you. I got a last chance with my band (just had my 3rd Band Surgery and will have to get it removed one day) yet I'm still eating junk food all night. It's like my body refuses to get below 240 - my mind won't let it. I'll be happy to log into the Chatroom at night if you want to talk... maybe we can keep each other from eating at night.
  24. I can't explain it in medical terms, but you know your body is burning fat when you are in ketosis. The Adkin's and other high-protein diets are always raving about ketosis. You can buy ketosis sticks at a vitamin store to see if you are in the fat-burning stage. You just pee on the stick and match the color to a chart on the bottle to see if you are in "ketosis" or "maximum fat burning" mode.
  25. I have silky straight hair for the first time in my life. I'm the "before" girl on the Garnier commercials, with the big poof of frizz-bomb on my head. I purchased the TrueCeramicPro after seeing the infomercial, and I used it for the first time today. It really does glide right through your hair! It didn't snap and pop the damaged pieces the way a curling Iron or straightening iron does, just glides right throught. Left my hair super-straight. I've had other straightening devices, but I'm sold. Cost $144.00 by the time they added in shipping, but worth it. I even got complimented from the Company Grouch, who usually doesn't even talk to me.
