  1. That's awesome! Happy for you! I went through my clothes a few weeks ago, the biggest size I have now is 14
  2. I agree you need to control your eating, easier said than done I know, but you can do it...it's mind over matter at this point. Best Wishes
  3. Kudos to you for taking the plunge (ha ha)! You won't break anything and you will feel fabulous afterwards...I am lucky enough to have a pool in my backyard and I swim almost every day, it's fabulous exercise and not stressful on our joints. Go for it and have fun!
  4. My heating pad saved me when I had that nasty shoulder pain...mine lasted around 2 weeks, so hang in there, it will get better, I promise. Best Wishes
  5. I didn't have to do a pre op diet and I'm doing great at 6 months post op, so I would say you are most probably just fine.....Take it one day at a time, think about why you are having the surgery and hang in there, surgery day will be here before you know it, then it's a whole new ball game. Best Wishes
  6. The sleeve is still not an option for Tricare West patients either....I think it's an area thing. My surgeon said that because Tricare are a government insurance they will always follow Medicare and Medicaid guidelines and seeing as the sleeve has been approved by Medicare it's just a matter of time before Tricare approve it's use in all areas..
  7. Great reminder, I am having my annual mammo next week ~ my first since being banded, guess I need to fess up to the tech also
  8. Love it!! It is you that is doing it ~ proud of you!
  9. I would check out both of the dress measurements first...if the smaller one is just a bit smaller than the size you are now I would go for the smaller dress..I know if it were me, paying out for a dress would keep my weight loss on track. Best Wishes
  10. Congrats!! You're doing awesome!
  11. How exciting! That's a good day for surgery ~ my birthday! Congrats on your upcoming surgery
  12. I know how frustrated you must be, but as long as you are following your doctors rules ~ mushies I assume by now, lot's of protein, lot's of water, eating only your allowed portion, then the weight loss will catch up....Best Wishes
  13. Congrats on your surgery Mike!
  14. I have the band without the plication ~ I am prove positive that you can lose with the band alone, as are many other wonderful people on here. I think it all comes down to you doing the right thing post op...Best Wishes MsGal
  15. Hoping you get the good news soon!....and I can't speak of the sleeve as I don't have one, but I love my band
  16. Yay I'm obese!...can't wait to be overweight! WTG kca1fan!
  17. The only one I can drink is the pre made banana muscle milk...good luck finding one you like
  18. I saw mine twice before surgery, but like EJRN it was during group seminars....
  19. My insurance specifically states that a physician must be seen once a month for 6 consecutive months and a nut or a nurse will not be excepted. I have to assume that your insurance also requires this, given the reason for your denial, if that is in fact the case, the weight loss team are at fault because they should know this information...I wouldn't give up either, I would start my 6 months over and in the mean time fight any way you can...I'm so sorry Mama Angela...I wish you luck...
  20. So sorry this is happening to you. The surgeons office should have known that you had to meet with a doctor, it's widely known that insurance requires a doctors visit and not a nurse for the weight loss appointments. I had to do the 6 months and they stressed that I had to see a doctor...I really feel for you, you did what you were told but the surgeons office should know better...Best Wishes
  21. I was banded the week before Xmas ~ I wore pj bottoms, a t shirt and a hoodie! Best Wishes for tomorrow
  22. Big difference! You're looking fabulous!
