  1. All of my nut consults and all the exercise and support groups and classes are free for me at my surgery center, but I would have paid a program fee if I had to...love, love, love my surgery center!
  2. I've never heard of it either. I have a $12 co pay for each doctor visit.
  3. I lost 40 lbs in 2 months, retired my 2x pj's and can wear my size 18's again (but not for long)!
  4. Onwards and downwards!! Congrats!! Great job
  5. I had a hernia repaired too...the short answer to what will help the pain, is time. Every day you should feel better than the last and about a week from now you will feel sooooo much better. Hang in there and congrats on your banding!
  6. Myfitnesspal says the same thing to me when I log my calories....I don't worry about it, I just keep on doing what I'm doing. My nutritionist told me the first 6 weeks were for healing, not to pay attention to calories, just protein and water intake.. You're doing great at 2 weeks post op and you could always talk to your nutritionist if you have worries. Best Wishes!
  7. I was told no straws too, but only for the first few months post op...
  8. Congrats! You're doing fabulous!!
  9. That's amazing! Congratulations!!
  10. CG mentioned something I forgot...you will need a referral from your PCP. I didn't need a referral until I was 4 months into my supervised diet, if I had got one before hand it would have expired, but if you don't have to do a supervised diet you will need one right away..
  11. I haven't had any of the above since my surgery almost 2 months ago...I was am a carb addict and LOVED bread, so I feel much safer staying away from it right now while in the losing stage of my journey. I do think maybe some day I will eat them again....just not now. Like my friend CG girl said, do what works for you!
  12. You would be in the Tricare South region and the lap band is covered by Tricare Prime. Are you at or around Keesler AFB then? My first step would be to locate a surgeon in your area that takes Tricare, they will be able to tell you what Tricare requires, my region TriWest requires a 6 month supervised diet but your region may not.....Try looking online, this site has a surgeon search engine at the top of the page...You could even call Tricare and ask them which bariatric surgeons are in your network.....Best Wishes!
  13. I couldn't see them yesterday but I see them now...cute little buggers!
  14. I use unsweetened almond milk..just because I like the nutty flavor. If you want more protein, cow's milk is better. You just have to find what works and tastes better for you
  15. So why do I have a blog??? No idea really.....Not feeling too hot today. The normal monthly poo that we women have to deal with, made worse by a yeast infection (that I never get unless I'm on anti biotics, and I'm not!) and a really sore knee (too much Just Dance) some of those moves are impossible! I woke up to flowers, a huge stuffed bear, a hand made card and my favorite sugar free licorice jelly bellys...love my man, he totally rocks. Every day is like Valentines day when you love your spouse and he loves you just as much if not more, like we do, I am truly blessed. I have always been a pajama wearer, I must have at least 40 pairs of pants and shirts. I think it stems from them being over sized, elasticated and my not wanting to go anywhere in public, so I live in them (until I have to pick the children up from school). I had to say goodbye to my old friends, size 2x purple and white fuzzies this morning, I will most likely keep them (it's the hoarder in me) but it's time to move on to the smaller size.. Hubby wants to go to dinner tonight. I'm just not feeling it. I would rather eat my chicken and green beans, maybe have a glass of wine and watch Impractical Jokers, the kids love to watch it too and after they are in bed we will probably catch up with some Game Of Thrones (we are still on season 1) On this Valentines day (and every day) love your family and love yourself..you both deserve it
  16. I think it's a great idea! Tattoo placement is definitely important...I have had 3 tattoos for years and even having lost and gained 150 lbs they have stayed the same because of where they are..Don't forget to post pics if you do get some!
  17. Congrats!! That's less than 3 weeks away!
  18. Congratulations!! Hope you have a quick, easy recovery
  19. Congrats on your up coming surgery! If you really want this, you can do this....Best Wishes
  20. Hope you are feeling a little better today Breezy..Hang in there it will get better
  21. Congrats on losing 80 lbs, that's awesome! I know for me, it will always be a battle, but with the band I feel a lot more hopeful for my long term success. Best Wishes!
