  1. Muscle does not weigh more than fat, put 5 pounds of muscle on a scale and then put 5 pounds of fat on a scale. I got 20 bucks that says they will both weigh 5 pounds, muscle just takes up less room in your body than fat....I agree measuring is your best right now..I know we all want the scale to move down and I feel your pain. All I can say is, get plenty of protein, drink plenty of water, track every calorie and keep on doing what you are doing. Best Wishes
  2. It does sound like gas pain....my surgeon told me it's the nerve that runs up to your shoulder that is irritated by the gas. I had it from day 2 until about day 9 and it really kicked my butt...the only thing that helped me was my heating pad..Congratulations on your banding and Best Wishes!
  3. The thing I feel most ashamed for is for not being the best possible me for my husband and my children...time after time we didn't do fun things because of me not wanting to embarrass them.....but we have to let go of those feelings and embrace the new us and the new opportunities that are out there....Best Wishes to you and your Father
  4. Congrats on your approval!!, I have Tricare too. I think that Tricare would be the ones who could answer your questions, I know from experience that it can be difficult getting a straight answer from them but they would be the ones that would know if you can switch to another surgeon in your network...I really hope it will be easy for you to switch. Best wishes
  5. Damn those Cadbury Creme Eggs! msseven ~ some great advice here...you can turn this around and be a great success, go back to your doctors eating plan and stick to it....you can do it
  6. We live in Vegas and have a pool in our backyard...so while I don't have to deal with being in public, this year I am going to do away with the t shirt that I wore over my bathing suit last year...happy you are enjoying shopping
  7. You may need to reassure him that you aren't going anywhere...All marriages have their ups and downs but if you both truly love each other and want to fight for your marriage then you need to do everything you can to make it work..I have never been to counseling but it's an option...Best Wishes
  8. Exactly!!!...I can 100 % say that my marriage is solid and will stay solid...if your marriage is solid then temptations won't be an issue..
  9. I was told once by an ignorant skinny little jerk that I was bigger than his wife when she was 9 months pregnant...thing was I was 8 months pregnant at the time but I guess I just looked fat.....I told my husband and he went looking for him...luckily for skinny jerk, he couldn't find him...wish I could meet him now and punch him in his ignorant face...
  10. Size 8's with room to spare, that's awesome! Even with a little swelling you look fabulous!
  11. You got this! You have done amazing so far. Dig deep and keep on going...there's no going back! It will happen, you will reach your goal. Any loss is great and it all adds up. Best Wishes
  12. My pcm just wrote a few lines, he showed it to me before he printed it out. He mentioned my having failed the 6 month diet, my starting and finishing weight for the 6 months, my bmi, my elevated cholesterol and he finished by saying I was an excellent candidate for wls and that he recommended it. Best Wishes
  13. Congratulations!! Fabulous job
  14. How are you doing now? I remember feeling so much better 3 weeks out
  15. Try not to worry! This is your new beginning! If you help the band, you can be very successful. Best Wishes
  16. Not this marriage!!...if wls can make a marriage fall apart then it's not a very strong marriage in the first place..IMO
  17. I am lucky enough to have a husband that has loved me when I was 300 lbs and when I was 140 lbs...so no trouble here...like Texas Princess's hubby mine is also my biggest cheerleader and our sex life has always been off the charts
  18. I am a mother of a special needs child too...I have 4 children total, so yeah I have major stress in my life too and I can relate to some extent. But my children have no relevance on my band. I don't have a magic band and nor do you. It takes time, it takes effort and it takes commitment. If you aren't willing to give the band, time, effort and commitment then you probably should get it out. Best Wishes
  19. Every insurance is different, mine for example only excepts weight watchers if you were also seen by a doctor every month for 6 consecutive months..I would find out by calling your insurance company to see exactly what they except and then get proof from WW as Missy suggests. Good Luck!
  20. I've only had one fill and I passed on my second last week because I don't feel like I need it....so yes, I have some degree of restriction with just one fill... I have very little hunger between meals, I log everything I eat, I stick to my portions and I exercise. Everyone is different and Beth you have done awesome losing 70 lbs!
  21. What a great feeling!! You'll be in single digits before you know it, great job!
  22. Glad you got a giggle...my husband sent me it because I'm obsessed by the size of my behind So sorry to hijack your thread..
  23. I have a love/hate relationship with my scales...can't give them up though Best Wishes!
