  1. I've done excellent. I'm at 163lbs & my goal weight is 150lbs. When I went to my first seminar I was 262lbs. Then chickened out & didn't have WLS. I lost a few pounds on my own & 3yrs later I decided to make changes in my life & have WLS. I'm happy that I did it. U just hang in there because it only gets better.
  2. Star Jones had Gastric Bypass not the Band.
  3. She sure does look fabulous.
  4. Do what is right for you & your health situation. Every procedure has its goods & Bad. Just do your research sit with your PCP & Bariatric Providers & see what benefits you. Good luck to you in whatever you decide.
  5. First things first I've been working with Bariatric Surgeons since 1997 first in NYC now in upstate NY so my knowledge is here about all options. I've read, done seminars & the whole nine yards. I've been on this site way prior before I had my surgery (banded in 2010) but due to patient confidentially I have joined multiple times. I am not up or down playing either procedure Band or Bypass. My comment was that the Bypass has come a long way since the beginning. I see patients everyday & know their ups & downs. Weight loss surgery is a big step & of course we've all read the bad & great success stories. I wish all the best of luck & much success with their journeys.
  6. I've been banded since 12/22/10 & have only told 6 people. The people at work don't know. I'm a private person & don't feel that it's necessary to run around telling people. 3 Family members, my hubby & two best friends I've been buddies with for over 30yrs. This is how I like it.
  7. Congrats & good luck. #banded12/22/10
  8. I went to seminar Oct 2010. Ins denied me in Nov 2010. I wrote an appeal letter (a powerful one) then I was approved 2nd week in Dec & I got Banded Dec 22, 2010.
  9. Welcome & congrats on your band success. I was Banded 12/22/10
  10. Welcome welcome lol. I've been banded since 12/22/10 & soooo very happy that I made that decision. Just do your research , & go to a support group meeting if you have to & this way you can be "all ears" & get pamphlets etc. Thats what I did. Good Luck with whatever you decide.
  11. Muscle Milk Lite is not being removed from shelves & does not have mercury in them. I've been in contact with Sam's Club, Target, Shop Rite, Walmart & they are not removing from shelves. My Doctors office did research as well & said they've heard nothing & also made a few calls & said they've heard nothing of the sort. This may be a started rumor gone badd. Good luck to all upcoming surgeries & you'll all so just fine. I've been Banded since 12/22/10 & I don't regret it. I'm happy that I did it. Good Luck all & much success.
  12. Hi & congrats on your upcoming surgery. I was Banded on 12/22/10 & I'm replying to the comment about Muscle Milk. I've been drinking "Muscle Milk LITE" since September 2010 & there is no mercury in them. I'VE contacted Sam's Club & they are NOT removing them off the shelves. I also did some on-line research & my Bariatric Surgeon states that's untrue. Nevertheless I want to take this time to wish you luck with your surgery & hope all goes well. I visited Florida for the first time this summer & loved it. Smile Please do keep in touch
