  1. I haven't told a lot of people either. People are ALWAYS ready to judge before finding out the facts about the Lapband. I've been Banded since 12/22/10
  2. You took the words right out of my mouth!! Find a new more supportive Bariatrics' Team.
  3. You are so very on point with this one!!!! It's not about the food. My Band anniversary date is 12/22. I got Banded 12/22/10. Today I ate a small plate of food (saucer size) & had strawberry shortcake for desert. I didn't overdue it!! #lovingmyband
  4. I agree, but bottom line is talk to your Doctor/Bariatrics Nurse. Every person is different, different situations, & different physics. For example my Cousin is a Nurse had the Band & did everything by the book. She kept getting stuck & guess what her Band was a defect. She has since had it replaced 7months ago & everything is fine now. So Always Always talk to the professionals when things are going wrong with the band. Even a phone call where a Nurse will call you back. No question is a stupid one & your health is your LIFE!!!! Good Luck & Have a great Holiday.
  5. Muscle Milk Lite Chocolate is yuuuummmmo!! Delicious!! Sam's club $20.88 per case.
  6. 1200 calories may not be enough for YOU. You may not be getting enough in & there's nothing to burn. Let me know how you make out.
  7. I've been banded since Dec2010. This has happened to me more than once & I discussed with Bariatrics Nurse & she advised me to increase my protein. It worked for me. Sometimes you starve your body thinking its the right thing, but that's not always right. Talk to someone in the Provider's office that did the procedure. Also stay off the scale. Inches matter. I weigh myself once per week. Don't get stuck on numbers. Good luck
  8. The best Protein shake in my opinion is "Muscle Milk Lite" it's only 100 calories no sugar lactose free. I've been drinking them for 2yrs & now at work I have at least 12 people hooked on them. You can buy @ Sam's Club by the case. Also they were recommended by my Doctor. Good Luck & much success
  9. Congrats. I've been banded since Dec 2010.
  10. Also tell them if you are hungry. I've gotten fills & three days later still hungry so I called the office & scheduled another appointment for the following week to get another fill. They always like to wait for at least a week to avoid too much play that can cause BAND slippage. I also have a 10cc band & have 8.3cc in mine, but the fills were done gradually over a 1yr & 11month period. Take it slowly, because if you rush things it may cause problems later. Also talk to the nutritionist.. Let me know how you make out & don't be afraid to call the office I do it & my Doctor told me he appreciated the fact that I voice my concerns & not wait until an issue would cause serious problems.
  11. Really you should be discussing your "stuck" concerns with the Nurse advocate in the Surgeon's office that did the procedure. They know your medical history & can guide you in the right direction. I've been banded since Dec 2010 & can give you lots of suggestions, but bottom line "talk to your Doctor/Bariatrics Nurse"..... You will be just fine, but always listen to your Healthcare provider & never be afraid to even call them & ask questions, no question is a stupid question that's what they're trained for. You have a blessed Holiday & be safe.
  12. Oh yeah. I got banded 12/22/10 & started at 232lbs. I'm now 163lbs. My goal weight is 155lbs. Much success to all of you.
  13. Also to help during the day like before lunch or dinner you should be sipping on water or whatever you drink up until your first bite of food. Then do not drink while eating & wait 30 mins after eating before drinking. This is what my Doctor & the nurses taught me prior & post surgery.
  14. Early in the morning your band is at its tightest. What I do is only have a cup of hot tea. Then an hr later I drink my protein shake. After that if I'm hungry within the next hr or two I then eat. The band is tight because your throat/esophagus is dry from sleeping.
  15. Congrats. I remember how I felt once I left the 2's. I'm now 163 & was banded December 2010. My goal is 155 so I'm still a work on progress.
