Do You Drink Coffee, How Much Weight Have You Lost?
I'm 9 weeks out, and drink regular coffee every day. I didn't have any the first 6 weeks after surgery, and I sure missed it. I'm 41 lbs down.

Am i wasting my time?
I would contact them now and let them know where you are at. I actually gained 6 lbs on purpose to meet the requirements, plus I had high cholesterol which counted as a comorbidity. I thought it was a "long shot" that my insurance would accept me. But they accepted me, and I am so glad they did. It was worth the trouble.

First day back to work tomorrow-- Suggestions? Advice?
Wow..back to work in one week. I took 2 weeks off. My suggestion is to wear something loose around the tummy for sure. Make sure you get a few walking breaks in, and keep a water bottle at your desk

Surgery Scheduled for Wednesday, April 10th
As horrible and hard as it is, keep your eye on the prize. Keep reminding yourself why you are doing it. That's what got me through. Best wishes

Return to normal life?
Something clicked at 5 weeks for me and I had (and still have) tons of energy. I think I started adding more carbs to my diet, and that helped with my energy and mood.

Return to normal life?
I went back to work after 2 weeks, but I only have a desk job. I felt pretty run down and had low energy for the first five weeks after surgery. But that's just my experience.

What brand protein bar?
I'm a little over 6 weeks out, and I love Pure Protein S'more bars. They have 19 grams of protein and 180 calories. They are soft to eat too. I got them at Wal-Mart.

Can't.....stop....looking at this site!
I lived and breathed this surgery up until I had it 6 weeks ago. I still get on here almost every day post op. But yeah, before surgery, it's ALL I could think about. Best wishes to both of you

Question for people who had the surgery WITH insurance.
I hadn't paid anything towards my deductible yet when I had my surgery 7 weeks ago. I owed a total of $2500 out of pocket. I paid $700 on the day of surgery, and paying the rest off in monthly payments.

Anti-depressants?
I'm on Lexapro too. I had to crush the pills for the first 5 weeks. But now I can swallow them whole again.

Anti-depressants?
I've been on them forever too, and it was never a problem.

My eyes are too big for my tummy!
I am totally with you! I do really good with my portions at breakfast and lunch. But at dinner I seem to put an extra spoonful on my plate and end up eating it, and feeling stuffed, and mad at myself. Then I worry that I stretched my sleeve, etc.... I am really going to try to focus on amounts at dinner time.

6 Weeks post op ... WHAT DO I EAT?
I am 6 weeks out too. I eat eggs, refried beans, chili, chicken, green beans, and soft protein bars. I pretty much eat anything except breads and real carby stuff. I'm down 33 lbs. I've had a couple of stalls here and there. Hang in there. Oh yeah, I also stay away from anything crunchy (raw veggies, chips, popcorn, etc) for now.

Newbie here and totally lost
I contacted my local hospital, and asked if they had a bariatric program. They transferred me to the bariatric program director who helped me every step of the way. I had mentioned it to my regular doctor, but she wasn't a fan of wl surgery. So she wasn't any help. Best wishes on your journey.

Ladies! Did your cycle change?
I'm 42 and am so done with these darn periods! I'm thinking about having an ablasion since I"m at my "out of pocket" max for the year with the sleeve anyway. My sister had an ablasion last year because of heavy periods, and hasn't had a period since.
