  1. My surgery is feb 18 too. I'm impressed that you started your pre op diet early. My pre op starts feb 11. I thought about starting early, but I just keep putting it off (story of my life). So yeah, I'm still eating those cheeseburgers, fries, and donuts But not for long!
  2. Feb 18 surgery for me too!!! My pre op starts Feb 11. Let's keep in touch
  3. Slim fast high Protein has 180 calories, 9 grams of fat, 4 carbs, 2 grams sugar, and 20 grams of protein. The fat is a little higher than I would like, but I still think they are a good choice.
  4. I just ordered a sample pack from Unjury. I hear that they taste pretty good. My pre op diet starts feb 11.
  5. Awesome Jen!!! Keeping my fingers crossed for you!!!
  6. Congrats on your decision, and welcome
  7. My husband has been somewhat supportive of it. He knows that I am going to do what I want regardless of what he thinks though. But I have told him that his support means a lot to me, and I really need it. He is a very muscular normal weight guy who goes to the gym everyday. I was normal weight when we got together, but over the years I have ballooned. He has never put me down, but I know that he thinks I just need to "work harder" at taking the weight off. He has told me that I am way to obsessed about the surgery. I honestly think that he is jealous of the attention that I'm giving the surgery...if that makes sense? So, secretly I am excited beyond belief about it!!!!!!!!!!!! But, I don't talk about it much with him
  8. Feb 18! WooHoo!!!!!!!!!
  9. I totally know how you are feeling. I thought how dare you deny me after I have invested sooooo much time and $ into this!!! But they did deny me at first. My first thought was "oh hell no!" I fought back and was approved a week later. Hang in there and don't take no for an answer. Best wishes!!!
  10. I'm so sorry. I'm sure you just want to scream! It will all come together. Try to hang in there. ((hugs))
  11. weight, height, blood pressure, and he discussed what to expect during the surgery. It was easy and pretty quick. No undressing involved Good luck!
  12. My surgeon is using a 32 bougie. I think that is "average"? What size did your surgeon use?
  13. My husband says I'm obsessed with it like it's a bad thing! I say that I'm passionate about it..LOL!
  14. 34 more days for me!!!! I'm right there with you....cannot wait Best wishes!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. WOW! I am so sorry about your insurance. Man that would make me mad too! I have a bmi of 35 and one comorbidity, and I was super schocked that I got approved. But, like a lot of people said, after my deductible, and the percentage I have to pay, it will probably come out to be the same out of pocket as going to Mexico would cost. So, either way it's about the same. Best wishes!!!!
  16. Great advice! Thank you! I appreciate any tips on making this the best journey possible
  17. I have my pre op appointment with my surgeon tomorrow. He will tell me then when my pre op diet starts. My surgery isn't until Feb 18, so I will probably be starting the liquids about a week after you. Yea!!!! Best wishes to you!!!
  18. LOL...I am right there with you. I start my liquid diet in a couple of weeks as well. I don't want to do the "last huge meal" thingy, but movie popcorn, McD's fries, and honeybuns are a few of my guilty pleasures that I'm ready to say good bye to. Ok, I will have to have one last honey bun
  19. Hugs and prayers!!!! You'll get it this time
  20. I was actually denied by Cigna at first. They requested more documentation. I just had my dr write another letter explaining how this surgery would help. I was approved 2 days later. Cigna wants to see if you are willing to fight for it. Stay strong and keep fighting!
  21. Thanks for sharing. I have the bowel prep on a Sunday (feb 17), and surgery the day after. Good luck!!!
  22. Cigna seems to deny people quite a bit on their first try. From what I've seen on here (and my own experience), they want to see how hard you will fight for this. I was denied in Dec for not proving I had a comorbidity (my bmi is 37). My dr sent them another letter stating again that I did have a comorbidity, and I was approved 2 days later. I wish you all the best! Keep in touch
