  1. I had to give my nut a 3 day food journal which she went over with with me. Plus she just told me what to expect pre and post op (protein shakes, water, etc). The appointment lasted 30 minutes...easy. I have Cigna too.
  2. What problems have you been having with your pre op diet? Just curious since I will be starting that soon!
  3. WOW...Good job! I know the pro op diet will be hard, but I know I can handle it for a week. There is no way I could do it for 14 weeks! If I had that much willpower, I don't think I would need the surgery...LOL! Good for you!
  4. I had a 3 month supervised diet, and never lost a pound. I actually gained 4 pounds. I was denied at first for a different reason, but then approved. Insurance didn't say anything about the gain.
  5. I have 8 days of vacation that I'm using. I have a desk job too.
  6. I'm getting sleeved Feb 18, and lately I've seen a few comments on here about a drain tube? I've considered myself pretty informed on this surgery, but nobody at my surgeon's office has said anything about having a drain tube. That just sounds awful. Is that just a normal part of the surgery?
  7. Oh believe me, I'll be the biggest (pun intended..LOL) "B" right there with ya. I'm allowed the same 5 slim fasts along with cottage cheese and egg whites. My surgery is Feb 18. Not sure yet when my pre op diet will start? I'll be thinking about ya
  8. Keep your eye on the prize! You can do it!
  9. I'm right there with all of you....consumed by having the surgery. I'm trying to not talk much about it at home. My hubby is obviously jealous of the attention I'm giving it. He has made a couple of comments about me being on this forum sooo much. Sorry honey...GET USED TO IT!
  10. I was originally feb 4, but pushed back to feb 18th too! I refused to be pushed back any further toooo...LOL! Wishing you the best!
  11. I was denied by cigna first time around, but approved last week! My thoughts and prayers are with all of you that are still in the "waiting" stage. I know how consuming (and stressful) this stage is. Hang in there, and keep us posted!
  12. Hi Tina. I am 29 too (ok, really I'm 42 too ) I WAS scheduled for Feb 4, but they bumped it back to Feb 18...grrrrrr! I'm in Wichita KS. Let's keep in touch!
  13. I am using insurance. I was denied at first, but approved second time around. I'm going with the bariatric program at Wesley. My surgeon is Nicholas Brown. His office is actually at Via Christi St Francis, but he does the bariatrics for Wesley too. My surgery is Feb 4! It's soooo nice to find a fellow Wichita friend
  14. Just saw that you are from the Wichita area like me Wishing you all the best on Jan 17th!!!!
  15. I don't know how to post pics either...sorry. I'm from Kansas (that isn't the reason that I don't know how to post pics...LOL). I'm married with 2 kids. I went into this whole process wanting the lapband, but changed my mind and decided to go with the sleeve half way through the process. I'm super excited too!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. I'm Feb 4 too! When do you start your pre op diet?
  17. I am getting sleeved Februay 4 in Wichita KS!!! YEA!!!
  18. Congrats! I'm being sleeved February 4
  19. I'm having my surgery at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita in February!!!! I'm wondering my other Wichitans traveled to KC?
  20. I was approved last week by Cigna, but they did deny me at first. My advice is to keep fighing. If you meet their requirements, they will have to eventually approve. They are hoping that you will give up....NEVER give up!
