  1. Me too Krystal... would love to hear how you're getting on now??? I really hope that you are doing well
  2. Hi There are lots of lower BMI bandsters around... I was banded June 1st 2007 with a BMI 31... first time I saw doctor I was 34 however :-) Check out this thread for all the info you'll ever need... http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f17/lower-bmi-bandsters-26697/ Good luck
  3. Hi Donna I was banded June 1st (a week ago)... today is the first day that (touch wood) I've had no gas pain in my left shoulder... Yee Ha!!! I don't think that anything helps, you just have to live through it knowing that it will go away soon... I did found that if I drank my liquids too quickly I would have a severe attack almost immediatley... so remember to sip slowly :-) Good luck and hang in there!
  4. Hi lianna Nice to see someone who is so close to reaching goal on the lower BMI thread, well done your are very inspriring!! I am being banded on June 1st, I was 222lbs at my heaviest and am currently 201lbs (hopefully in onederland by the end of the week). My goal weight is 150lbs and I am 170cms tall... many people have said to me that this goal weight is too low but I thought when I decided on it that I was being reasonable... you've done it so how do feel about your goal weight... are you sticking to it??? Cheers
  5. Hi nvalicia Try following this link in the General discussions area: http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=33199 I too am being banded on June 1st... not long now, I bet you're as excited as me and the rest of the Junies :-) Look forward to chatting!!
  6. Hi Johanna and everybody else :-) My surgery is booked for June 1st... still seems like ages away but from what I've read here it will be worth the wait! I started on my pre-op diet 2 weeks ago today and man it's been hard! I kind of wish that I hadn't started it so far out but there's no turning back now. I sometimes think I started it as I feel a bit guilty for getting the surgery in the first place and want to lose as much as possible before the big day! Look forward to reading how everyone is getting on
  7. I wish you the best of luck... it really seems like you've had a change in attitude and I feel sure that you are going to succeed this time
  8. Hi Kit My BMI is 35 so a lot higher than yours but I too have had people question my motivation for wanting to be banded. I have also beat myself up over not being able to maintain my previous great weight losses. I am obsessed by food as I seem to always be hungry and I simply don't want to be! I am 36 years old and have already spent 1/2 my life worrying about my weight and where it will eventually get too. I think that the gastric band is a great tool for those of us (regardless of BMI) who have a real problem with contolling our hunger... I wish that I had considered it at a lower BMI and a younger age so I say... if you know that it's right for you and if you've done lots of research then you should go for it :-) KT
  9. Jacqui, I am loving your attitude and everyone elses on this matter. I have my first appointment with the surgeon on April 2nd and with a BMI of 35, there's no nice way to put it... I look fat,I feel fat, I am fat! I am in Christchurch, New Zealand and my doctor had a bit of an issue referring me to begin with but after I explained to him my many failed attempts at dieting and my misery over the fact that everytime I loose weight I put it back on with another 7kgs or so he finally agreed... only wish I was in Oz so that I could've started down this track at BMI = 30!! It is not a decision anyone takes lightly and it's a very personal journey... surely we are capaple of deciding if we need a gastric band or not!? KT Pre-band
