  1. I had my second fill today. We stopped at Burger King on the way home. (great idea right?) I had about three bites of my hamburger and a few fries WHILE drinking my cold ice tea. Needless to say I was in a bit of pain rather quickly. I thought I was eating slow but I forgot about the no drinking while eating thing. The pain pretty much subsided on the rest of the hour long drive home. I get home and decide to take my meds and take a nap so I put my pills in my mouth and shoot them down like I have for years with a couple huge gulps of cold ice Water. This is when the pain really begins! It hurt so freakin' bad... pretty sure I am having an esophageal spasm. Its a pain I am actually already familiar with due to my rather large hiatal hernia that I had fixed during my band surgery. I've eaten a certain way for so long I do it without thinking. I am going to have to chew, chew, chew, eat small and avoid drinks while eating. When I do drink I am going to avoid cold. I am currently sitting here with a heat pad on my chest, seems to be helping a little but wow... If I wasn't already a little familiar with this intense pain I would think I was having a heart attack. Live, learn and keep on keepin' on I guess.

    Two days til surgery.

Thanks everyone... I feel a little strange knowing its only hours away. Its been a long journey of visiting specialists, taking tests and seeing dietitians in order to satisfy insurance requirements. I am so looking forward to feeling better. This morning I could barely get up due to my arthritis and extra weight. I am so looking forward to being able to exercise. Getting all this weight off my joints is going to help so much I know lap band is a tool and I plan on using it to become a healthy person. I don't want to just lose weight or be skinny, I want to be healthy.
  5. I have my pre-op consultation tomorrow at noon and surgery Thursday at 7:00 am. I am in Scottsbluff, Nebraska in the hotel that belongs to the hospital. We came a day early due to a blizzard warning. I've worked a long time to get this done and I was not going to let some snow stop me. My wife is more worried than I am... LOL but I don't get too worked up about much. I always joked that if the end of the world comes I will be sitting in my lawn chair with a beverage enjoying the show.
  6. I am having my lapband surgery April 11th in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Unfortunately I've had many surgeries so I am hoping this one won't be too bad but surgery is always stressful. Not looking forward to post op but I am tired of being fat and exhausted so I am determined to make this work. I want my life back, I have so many plans but the last few years I feel like I have been a prisoner to my weight. In a week this whole thing becomes a reality.
  7. My last dietary visit is Monday and then we can submit to insurance for approval. The person helping me with insurance says its a slam dunk and should be a quick approval, hope she's right. I've attended the seminars, consulted with doctors, jumped through all the hoops and have done six months of dietary visits, I want to get this thing going. For many years I was heavy but healthy and active then I had a major colon surgery and had a bag for several months plus many complications and was laid up for over a year combined with getting psoriatic arthritis. All the laying around robbed me of muscle and I gained even more weight until I became a very fat and unhealthy person. Walking up a flight of stairs make me gasp and suck air - I am so tired of this. I am looking forward to losing weight and being able to exercise and just feel better.
