  1. Hi All Banded 11/8 and down 28lbs. The holidays were hard and I found I ate too much carbs and gained a few pounds. But I got right back on track and have lost those and back where I was before the hoildays. I have had one fill on 12/4 an am scheduled for the next one on 1/28. I found after my first fill, it seemed like I could eat more, at least I was hungier more!! I am hoping the next fill will correct this. MY problem is I can't seem to start exercising, but this is a new year, and a new me and I will get there! Bonnie
  2. I was banded on 11/8 and also gained 3 lbs over the holiday. Threw out all the leftovers (cookies-mydownfall) yesterday and back on track. I need to start exercising but have been sick. Hope to start on Saturday.
  3. I also gained 3 lbs over Christmas, eating out and Cookies (my downfall). I had my first fill the beginning of Dec. and I am so hungry all the time. I have gotten rid of the cookies as of last night and since I am finally back at work (I was off for 16 days!) I am getting back into a good routine. Plus I got sick and have not been able to exercise. Hoping to go to the gym this weekend. I felll off the wagon but climbed back up and back on track!
  4. I was banded on 11/8 and had my first fill on 12/5-(3cm). AFter my fill, I now feel like I can eat more than I did before the fill. I am due for my next fill on 1/28, if I think I need it. I actually feel physical hunger more (stomach growling at me etc). I was told after the first fill to start to increase my Protein to 60-70 grams per day and I have no problem eating more at each sitting. Is this normal???
  5. I was banded on 11/8 and have not had any problems with food getting stuck yet. Over the holiday, I did eat more carbs then usual, but now that I am back to work, I have returned to better eating habits. My doctor also told me to stay away from carbs because they will slow the weight loss process. I usually only add carbs if I am going out to dinner, then I eat very little of them
  6. definately check in with your doctor. I had one day (day 5 after surgery) that I could barely take a shower. my blood pressure had dropped but I was very dehydrated. Surgeon recommended I call my family doctor because of the blood pressue, they had me come right in but I ended up getting 2 bags of fluid.
  7. 3 weeks 4 days, getting my first fill tomorrow!
  8. also check your blood pressure, if you take meds, they might need to be changed.
  9. HI All Thanks for all the info...it is so funny how the "eating" stages vary so much from Doc to Doc. My Doc made it very clear, black decaf tea or coffee. Articfical sweeter was ok. I am not an advocate of artifical sweetner and never use (but I also don't use sugar either). Tomorrow I go to the doc and can't wait to see what I have in store! Thanks again Bonnie
  10. Hi All I am almost 2 wks post op and returned to work today. Feeling great but really looking forward to an upgrade from just clear liquids and protein shakes. So what kinds of food is included in the mushy stage. Also I am a big tea drinker, when do we get to put a littel skim milk in and not have it just clear. Thanks Bonnie
  11. banded on 11/8==was also constipated. my doc recommended milk of magnesia and it worked. Good luck, when in question of what to take, call your doctor. That is what you pay them for!
  12. I am also 6 days post surgery and I hear you about the mushies. Yesterday was a bad day for me. I am on 2 bp meds and my bp fell to 79/57 and I was dehydrated. I hadn't had a bm since surgery and finally started the night before, it was diarhea and I think it added tothe dehydration. Ended up at the acute care of my health plan had 2 bags of fluids and had to lay on my back with my feet up to get my bp back up.I have to stop my bp for awhile but monitor it so it doesn't go up too high. Today all is well, I feel great and counting the days to mushies.Hang in everyone, I see the light at the end of the liquid tunnel and it is bright!
  13. wonderful!, I wish I had done it when I was younger instead of always struggling with my weight.
  14. i had this at the grocery store yesterday, my sense of smell was so heightened. i could smell stuff from a couple of aisles away. Day 5 and learning something new everyday
  15. Best wishes to all banded definatley drink and walk I was banded on the 8th and feeling better everyday.
  16. All these doc do things so differently. I am on clear liquids, broth-low salt fat free, sugar free pops, decaf tea or coffee water and protein drink like ensure or boost, only 6 oz a day. He told me and it is also written on the form, if it isnt on this list, you can't have it. I would check with your doctor on adding anything that wasn't on your list
  17. I was banded yesterday too, and forced myself to get up twice the day of surgery and it made a really big difference. But I was dehydrated even with the intravenous fluid, Once they upped the amount of fluids, it made such a difference. Good luck, and walking does make you feel better. Bonnie
  18. I was banded yesterday and had to stay overnight. I was having that problem too and it was that i was dehydrated even though I had the intravenous liquids. They had to "load me up" by increasing the amount dispensed. What a difference in how I felt once they did this, it was amazing! They had to do it again today. I know this is personal, but the little pee that is coming out, it is dark yellow or regular?
  19. hi I was banded yesterday and stayed overnight. Came home a few hours ago. I have to say, I feel really good. Today was my first day of being able to drink stuff. I had the swallow test this morning and then was able to start drinking water, then Ensure. I can't get over how good I feel. I have been walking 30 minute stretches 3-4 times a day. really excited!
  20. thanks, we will be heading out soon, roads aren't so good after lots of snow! I will post tomorrow....thanks for all the encouragement. Glad you had a good night sleeping in your own bed.
  21. Oh I forgot to say, we are in the mist of a nor'easter here in CT. It was suppose to be snow turning to rain with no accumulation, now we have about 6 inches and the wind is holling, snow is piling up. Thankfully I have 4 wheel drive and we are leaving extra early.
  22. Got my time for tomorrow, I have to be at the hospital at 9:55a tomorrow morning, I will be staying overnight and have to have a swollow test before I leave on Friday.
