  1. I weighed in this week and I lost nothing. The old me would have been tempted to quit. What I do know is I am doing what I am supposed to do and that I won't always lose but I am in for the long haul. I can't expect to lose at once it took a while to put it on. Stay. Strong and stick to your plan
  2. Sorry you misunderstood my post. For starters. I was agreeing about how hard it is to track. I have never been successful before I really started to focus on my journey and i learned about the apps online that make it so easy. People who track their food lose twice the amount than people who don't. Also by tracking you can better stay on top of what foods work better than others. For example yogurts and liquids do not keep me satisfied. I know this from tracking and reviewing . Best of luck
  3. I have noticed several people not even knowing how much they are supposed to eat. Don't doctors give out aftercare instructions and don't people research this process?
  4. I never had problems taking pills but please don't cut your pills without checking with a pharmacist or doctor first. Not all pills can be cut.
  5. I eat 500-800 but I didnt lose this week so I am going to try eating 1000 this week. I also dont count carbs mostly protein.
  6. Has anyone ever looked at this site? It is what Lap band recomends. http://www.lapband.com/en/live_healthy_lapband/months_beyond/dietary_guidelines/
  7. Don't forget to get the amount of protein per your doctor. It should be the first thing you eat.
  8. Make sure you are drinking enough water. That will help some.
  9. I make my mash taters with instant mixed with low sodium chicken brother and only eat 2 oz. My mom bought steamer packs of sweet potatos for Thanksgiving and that was ok too. Sometime things you just gotta try and start out with tiny bites.
  10. I absolutely can not eat steak but I know some people can. I also just chew and chew and chew and then I am scared to swallow.
  11. I could never keep the machine on but after about 50lbs I didnt need it anyway. Best of Luck
  12. Welcome. It really depends on your insurance company. I had to jump through many hoops including writing a letter why i wanted the surgery. I have seen other people approved in days. All you can really do is contact your insurance and be patient. Best of Luck!
  13. I agree you are probably ok but best to call your doctor's office and come up with a plan to get back on track.
  14. Mine would be dont change anything even if you hear it on this site without verifyiing it is ok with your Dr. Always follow your doctors rules (plan). Best of luck to everyone new
  15. Just saying if I can track anyone can. Use Mfp or spark people or any of the other apps. You are cheating yourself if you don't track.
  16. Thanks for the email tip !!
  17. Thanks so much for sharing . I hope you heal fast and get better soon. Keep us posted on your other surgery
  18. I have pain in my left shoulder alot. i am pretty sure it is gas. the nurse said to stop eating if i get that pain but i cant remember how she described it. I am 4 years out.
  19. Iif I was having those issues it would be too full for me. That is not the way the band is supposed to work. However it is normal for many to be really tight in the morning and do a shake. I would give it some time and be really careful eating while making sure you get enough calories. I am sure your nutritionist works with other banded individuals and maybe you should trust her.
  20. I agree go shopping! Even if you can't afford go try some smaller sizes on!
  21. I know I sound like a broken record and I am sorry but you should eat what your dr says and if you are having problems or want to change just please make sure to check in wih them first. So far the last month I have been eating 500-900 calories and have lost 17.8 lbs. I am careful about the choices I make and started exercising .
  22. Could not have said it better Mis! That is totally misusing the forrum and craapy way to treat others not to mention irresponsible and imature!
  23. I dont know if it will help but my nurse told me to specifically eat the dark meat and when I did have white meat I put a little low cal mayo on it. Im sorry you had a bad experience but its all part of the process and hopefully you will learn from it. You also might have been chewing to fast or the pieces could have been too big. It is hard sometimes when you are with others not to pay enough attention to what you are eating.
  24. I bet your clothes are bigger too. try geting into some smaller clothes that you have.
