I don't think it is too early to ask -- the worst that could happen is that they say wait a little longer. I let my fills fall to the bottom of my priority list for the last year and I regret it... take charge. It is your band, your health, your life! And don't beat yourself up for not losing, just make the best choices you can and do your best. You've got this girl!

Lizabeth that is awesome that you got your fill! Mine made a huge difference and YES be careful with bread, rice, Pasta...you creep up on full and then....TOO LATE!!! At least that's been my experience.
I was talking with a buddy that told me his wife lost over 100lbs. with her band, and that's great, but the interesting part is that she only lost about 20lbs in her first 2 years. He said she had to get 'used to it' for a while and then got serious. Only now do you have all the tools and you are SO YOUNG! I know you'll be a success. Year 2 is when you kick some butt and take names.
Thanks for the kind words. Morgan is awesome and I'm glad I have the band because I need to be healthy in order to keep up with her and her big brother. I definitely can feel the difference (I don't sweat 24/7 in the Houston heat).

Hi crystaleffexx - I had my surgery exactly 1 year ago and the cost was $5,500 plus my airfare. Very affordable and it was the cleanest hospital I've ever been in. The staff is very nice and professional. I wouldn't hesitate recommending Dr. Kuri.

I love that I found this Dr Kuri thread. It has brought me so much ease to read all these good words about him. Is it weird that I haven't loss weight on my pre op diet?

Hey y'all - update! I was banded Oct 19th by Dr. Kuri and it was a great experience. Unfortunately, the nurse that I had do my fills didn't have floro and couldn't get a successful fill. I have decided to go back to see Dr. Kuri beginning of Feb for a fill. Honestly, all the docs around here charge transfer fees - basically the cost of two visits to Kuri so I figured I might as well.
Due to the holidays and not working the "Rules" - I haven't lost much weight. I am starting over on the rules, and working on eating gluten free again (I have a sensitivity) - so I will post again after my fill on Feb 5th.

I want to once in my life NOT feel resentment when my size 0-2 friends show me their new clothes that they bought at stores that don't carry sizes big enough for me. I should be happy for them, but it hurts.
I want to wear all the things skinny girls wear and feel like a CHAMP! Haha including boots that never fit my calves before.

I have been on preop diet of liquids, Soup, popsicles, and Jello and I have my surgery this friday. I'm looking forward to being able to eat some veggies and meat in acouple of weeks.

KH, I am from Little Rock AR - congrats on losing so well so far! I am happy to hear you haven't needed a fill until now. Was your hunger under control without a fill?
