I just had my revision in November, my insurance is also 80/20 and a out of pocket max of $5000. So I had to pay the $5000 for my revision. I took out a medical loan and it was well worth the money, I cant see myself back at 309 lbs again if I can help it. :wub:

I dont regret having the gastric sleeve surgery & would do it again if I had to again. I think its just ur nerves, but if you really feel that way about the surgery then why dont you look into the lapband. Remember this is permanent.

Its quite normal to be nervous, I was and it was my 2nd WLS (didnt sleep the nite b4). Just take it easy, get plenty of rest, proteins and water. Please follow the directions of your doctor and if you have any question, dont be afraid to ask (remember no question is a stupid question).

I get it all the time from my family: you need to eat, ur getting to small, u dont need to lose any more weight, ur legs are too small, I can see the bones in ur neck, ur head is not to big for ur body and here's the best one "if you lose any more weight your going to look like a crack head" lol. I normally just roll my eyes and I have to remember that there not use to me being smaller than them and it just might be envy.

OMG gross I know about the slimming, I havent had that since my lapband was removed.

I know that feeling, I'm 2mths out and every time I eat meat I can really feel the restriction. Sometimes I want to avoid meat, but I know I need to proteins. Ive found that if I walk around between bite or eat standing up its better.

I do have alot of excess skin, it doesnt really bother me because I love the way I look in my clothes. I do plan to has plastic surgery one day, but Im not in any hurry. Ive recently started dating again and I will discuss with future mate early in the relationship.

I'm so sorry to hear of your pain. Ive always had back problems off and on, I noticed after surgery I was having pain again. But I think mine was from all of the dry heaving and jerking motion from that, once this was under control my back got back to normal, it took about 2 weeks.

Mine were the first 2 days. Day one I woke up with stomach cramps, neasous and dry heaving. Day two all of the above plus being forced to walk and being unable to pee.

I use pea protein, because I have a bad reaction to whey. I really dont like the flavor, but I need my proteins. I have to mix other things like fruit and peanut butter in order to hide to taste good luck.

I went 2 my WL doct for apt and I had went from 180 to 178 from last apt. Currently Im a size 10/12 which Im very very very happy about, I look healthy and feel good. I keep trying to telling him Im happy with my size and all he keeps telling me is that he want me to lose another 20 lbs in the next few mths. Hlep: can anybody give me any suggestions on how I can get him do understand what I'm saying without pissing him off!!! The only reasons why I had the surgery was due to lapband issues (had to have removed) and I didnt want to gain the weight back.

Congrats on making the decision to have WLS. I know its a big and scary decision, but its well worth it in the end. Like you I have always been overweight, even as a child. I made the choice to have my 1st WLS back in 2007 (lapband) and I was 309 lbs, I lost 100 lbs in the 1st yr and was able to keep it off. I gained 60 lbs 2 yrs ago during my pregenancy and lost it back in about a yr. I had my 2nd WLS back on 11/01/12 due to lapband issues, I had a revision to the sleeve and Im currently 178 lbs. I have no regret to having WLS I believe it saved my live and gave me my baby that I've always have dreamed of. Just think about your health and being there for your son, please keep us posted on your journey.

Sex for me was good when I was 300lbs and well as it is now at 178lbs. The only difference is the skin and now Im not so out of beath (sometimes). I have nothing against a person waiting for marriage, but I would hate to get married and the sex turns out to be bad. But I guess you can teach me what u like, when that time comes.

Well Im 3yrs out of a 10yr relationship, I hope 2 find love again with a side order of LUST. I know I LOVE myself, Ive loved myself even when I was over 300 lbs. Ive been dating and I turn alot of heads with this new body and haircut. The only problem Im finding is that Im 44 with a 2yr old toddler Lol. But Im not given up on finding Love and my soul mate.

Due to not being able to eat from my lapband and since getting the sleeve I noticed my hair was falling out badly, so I decided to bite the bullet and just cut it off into a trendy style and started to use Mane and Tail shampoo plus conditioner. Im going to cross my fingers and hope for the best. I heard that if you use Rogain and you stop using it, ur hair will fall back out.

I had a lapband put in back in 2007 and I just had it removed and revised to a sleeve on 11/1/12 due to losing the ablity to swallow. I did well with my weight lose (110 lbs) and was able to kept if off. But there are a lot of issues with the band, I throw up alot and there's alot of different foods you cant eat and alot of other medical band issues that can come up. Please do your research, doctors dont alway tell you everything. If the sleeve was available thru my insurance back in 07, I would have had that done instead. But Im thankful that I had it done, because it taught me how eat and I still use those tools with the sleeve.

I had a lapband for 5yrs, I just had a revision to the gastric sleeve back on Nov 1st. It took UHC 14 working days to make the decision to approve my surgery. My BMI was only 31 with no comb. But I was having issues with my band and it had to come out, but I requested the sleeve so I wouldnt gain my weight back.

I'm 5' 6" and started at 309 lbs size 30/32 back in July 07 when I had a lapband and got down to 212 lbs. I started my pre-op diet and was 190 lbs the day of my revision surgery on Nov 12. I'm currently 180 lbs size 10/12. I've also noticed that I've loss shoe sizes, I went from a size 11 to a 9.5 - 10 (I had alot of nice shoes that I had to give up)

I had surgery on 11/1 and went back to work on 11/19, my doct required a minium 2 week healing time. I felt ok after a week, but he wouldnt sign off on my return. The only problem Ive had since going back is being a little sore were I was cut, I have a desk job and sit for long periods of time.

Today I had my first dumping experience. I decided to try and new protein shot, I normally use the Body Fortress 26 g shot and this time I decided to use New Whey liquid protein 42 g grape, I only drank half. I was driving home and I had to pull over into a parking lot until I was well enough to drive the rest of the way home. It started with feeling hot and sweating, then I started to have stomach cramps and dry heaving. I had to turn on the A/C on full blast and I fell asleep for about 15 - 20 mins. Once I felt okay to get back on the road, I went straight home. It started to happen again by the time I got home and then I started to have stomach issues. I was so tired after this, I had to take a long nap to get myself together. I had a lapband for 5 yrs and had never have had this type of experience, Ive had my sleeve for 16 days and all I can say is Lord i hope this doesnt happen to be again Lol.

I really loved my lapband when I had it done back in 2007, I went from 309 to 188 lbs in 2 yrs. I stared having problems swallowing back on 07/12 and was told that I had esphegeal dysmobility and the only way to correct is to remove the band. I decided to hav a revision to a sleeve to order to not gain the weight back and to hopefully lose more in the near future. My surgery was Nov 1st and the doct did say that he saw some damage, but mine wasnt that bad. He said that the had seen worse.
