  1. HELP!! Ive noticed that everytime I use whey proteins in my shakes my heart starts racing, can anybody suggest any other protein that I can take. I dont want to get behind on my proteins, Im only 4 days out from surgery.
  2. Please do alot of research, I have noticed that Whey proteins give me heart palpation. Has anybody had these same problems, if so, please let me know what you are taking.
  3. Sounds like that dumping thing I had heard about. :-(
  4. I'm so sorry to here about your denial. I think that was a lame reason, I know I has UHC with my lapband and they only went by my words, but I guess with a gastric sleeve it takes alot more research. I dont alway agree with the insurance company, when it comes to your health. I also agree about the about the out pocket expenses. I just had my revision on Nov 1st I had had to paid my 1200 deduct and an addition 5000 out of pocket max for the year. All I can say is fight it and contiune to fight it.
  5. Tomorrow is the BIG day, surgery is at 9:30 and I'm scared to death. I've been a nervous wreak all day and I just cant calm down. OMG what the hell I'm I doing Lol, ok just calm down (this is so sad I'm talking to myself Lol).
  6. The day has finally come, tomorrow I will have my lap band removed. I dont know if I should laugh or cry. I'm just ready to go to bed and wake up from this nightmare. Ive been living a life in HELL for the last few months and I just really dont have to words for it anymore. I just ask that you all keep me in your prayers and light a candle.
  7. I have UHC and it took them 14 working days to hear back from my docts office and UHC left a message at my home the same day. I received the letter a few days later. I think it took so long due to the fact that its a revision from a lap band and my policy states that I have a 1 WLS per life time. But due to the fact I was having major issues with my band I have to have it removed ASAP.
  8. I got pregnant 2yrs after being banded, we had been trying for 10 yrs with no luck. Not being able to get pregnant caused a problem in our relationship and we broke up. Since I still wanted a baby I decided to try IFV with donor sperm, I got pregnant with the first round and I had my blessing: Mrs. Kennedy & she is the light of my life. So dont give up the fight, theres a light at the end of that tunnel.
  9. I was banded in 07 and got pregnant is 09 after loseing 100+ lbs. I would always get a sharp pain in my port area. I spoke with my band doct and he told me that its common because your stomach is growing and that the muscles are stretching to make room for the baby, plus I was on bed rest in the hospital for 4 weeks. Also remember that sometimes the baby can lay just right and kick in that area.
  10. I had was banded on 07/07 and I just started to have problems with it back in 07/12, almost 5 yrs to the day. I have a bmi of 31 and was dignosed with esphogeal dysmobilty, the only was to correct is to have band removed. My doct suggested that I get the revision and I agreed with him. I had premiun insurance with UHC when I had the band done and it was covered at 100%. Now I have standard insurance with UHC and I have 75/25% with a max out of pocket of $5000.
  11. I hope Im as good as you all are at this, I did it for 2 weeks when I had the lap band in 2007. The only good thing about is this time is that I only have to do it for 3 days, but Ive been so weak and 3 days will feel like 2 weeks Lol
  12. Im getting my band removed on Nov 1st and revised to a sleeve. I discussed it with my doct and told him "I refused to get off that table without a sleeve or put the band back" I didnt want to go back to where I was before the band. Lol
  13. Wow now I know what Im up againt come Nov 1st when I have my band removed :-(
  14. I'm one of those who do know the band is a tool and I took care of my tool. I did all the right things, I went to the gym, I drank my proteins 1st & I went to the meetings. I love my band and I will miss it, but I'm one of those people who do follow the rules but will still have to lose her band. You see I have developed esophogeal dysmobility and I have to have my band removed due to the fact that I have lost the ability to swallow and keep foods down (stuck in thoat). I will have a revision to a gastric sleeve on November 1st, I dont know how its going to go but Im trying to stay postive. My only concern I have now is the scare tissue from where the band was sitting and if they will be able to do it all in one day. I just ask it you all can keep me in ur prayers and I head to my next journey.
  15. Thank you so much for keeping me in ur prayers. Im glad to know Im not the only one out there with this concern of scar tissue and the damange the band might have done. Dont get me wrong, I have done well with it, Im just ready to get it out and move on with my life.
  16. I did have a EGD done that came out okay, but most people dont know how much damage and scare tissue the lap band causes on the stomach and Ive had mine for 5yrs.
  17. Here's the fat of it, we LOVE food and we LOVE to eat. It takes time to get it in your mind that the band is in control now and maybe you should just sit back and enjoy the ride. I miss eating hamburgers without having to run to the restroom to throw it back up because I cant eat bread LOL. But when I look in the mirror and see whats looking back at me, I KNOW I did the right thing. Its a MIND thing and sometime you will have to come up with alternate ways to have the foods that you miss, be creative.
  18. Ive been on liquids since I lost the ability of swallow and keep solid foods down back in mid July. The only mushey food I seem to be able to keep down for the most part is mashed potatoes, but they have to be very wet. Ive tried other foods and its a hit and miss kind of experience. The only good thing is that I lost 22 lbs in 6 weeks. I would give up the lbs lost for the ability to swallow normally again, thats why I decided to get the revision to a sleeve. Keep me updated on your progress.
  19. You should be okay, they approved my daughters surgery and she was only had a 38 bmi. They just approved my lap band to gastric sleeve revision and my bmi is only 31. Just make sure that you have completed all the requirements. Best of luck and keep us dated.
  20. I've had 2 dilations this year, but it hasnt worked for me. I was told that I have esophageal dysmobility and I will be having my band removed and a revision to a gastric sleeve on Nov 1st. I wish you have better luck with dilation then I did.

Well I passed my stress test "yes"!!!!!! It looks like Nov 1st will be my day.
  22. I plan on reading 50 Shades of Grey while I'm recovering. I wont be able to do it, so I guess I will just have to read about it LOL
  23. I'm November 1st in Houston, Tx. HELP ME: I'm sooooo sick to my stomach and I can't sleep at nite. I'm having a revision from a lap band and I'm so scared of what he's going to find when he takes the band off.
  24. I wish you the best of luck with ur doct issues. I just went in today for my preop and I was told that I had an abnormal EKG and that I need to be cleared by a heart doct before I can have surgery which is scheduled for Nov 1st. My docts office was able to get me any apt for tomorrow for a stress test (Im crossing my fingers and saying a prayer). Please keep us updated on your progress.
  25. Ive been unable to keep food down since mid July due to my lap band major issues. So me and my doct decided to try and have the band revised to a gastric sleeve, so we sent to paperwork to the insurance company and after 15 working days they decided to approve it, Yes I Win. We secheduled to have it done on November 1st, I went in today for my preop testing and guess what people: I had an abnormal EKG and now I have to go to a heart doct and get a stress test. All I can say at this point is REALLY REALLY, I'm I being punked!!!!!!! What do they think will happen to your body if you have been on a liquid diet from July 12 until the present & you lose 22 lbs in 6 weeks, Hello. Well I was able to get an apt with the doct tomorrow, Im going to cross my fingers and say a prayer that it come out good and I get the okay. Has anybody have had an abnormal EKG and did you have to cancel your surgery? Im sorry, Im just tired and hungry LOL
