Debbie3sons got a reaction from ☠carolinagirl☠ in what's your post fill instructions? my doc is really vauge!! ugh
Mine tells me after a fill to sip the Water ritght there in the office to make sur it goes down , and if it does then he says to do liquids for two days , then I can go to mushies for a day then back to solid food so I guess it's 48 hours of liquids and I still can't stand it but I guess I got used to it , since I found I like banana flavored or Cookies & creme musle milk I also every day drink Ocean spray packets to go in my water bottles I really like the cherry limeade or cran grape flavor .

Did the Surgeon fix or talk to about A hiatial hernia , I know I didn't even know I had one till My surgeon said he was going to repair it , so when he did my band he also did the hiatial hernia now I don't get heartburn and I don't have the pain I used to in my pelvic region , I also don't gag at a word my kids or anyone would say which was( coagulition ) I don't know why but I would gag and sometimes even vomit if anyone used that word , now I can deal with it and it doesn't boter me , maybe u should talk with the surgeon that did ur band and ask him cause who knows what could be causing it , well as I have said before this is just a suggestion also let the band surgeon know what u can keep down and what u can't , then go from there I hope this was helpful .

I have a 4yr old daughter and for Christmas she had got me a "mommy and me" necklace. i love it so much but was heartbroken when I had to tell her that it wouldnt fit around my neck. She was a little dissappointed but I told her I would put in a special place till I could wear it. Well today getting her ready for pre-school she asked me to wear the necklace she got me. i was nervouse about trying it on but IT FIT!!!! She was so excited that i was wearing it to work and it is the first thing since being banded that I have noticed about myself changing. She was so happy and kept telling me to show everyone and to let them know she got it for her mommy! I was banded 12/3/12 and have lost 36lbs but I havent seen the changes yet so this was a first!

My journey began in Oct. 2012. Since then I have last 40 pounds. I will Celebrate after this next ten pounds because not only will I be at 50 pounds loss but I will be out of the 300s. I am motivating myself to see that goal like never before. Six months ago I would have said it was a lost cause. But now I am more thrilled than ever. I changed my picture today to this pic I found on Bandster's blog. CHANGE! I can see it happening now. I am excited not only for me but for all of us. WE can do this!

Thanks so much for your tips. I didn't get the band to be "on a diet" for the rest of my life, counting carbs, etc....I was sick of that. I want to eat what I want, just not much of it and feel satisfied. So far, I have lost 40 lbs (20 left to go) and I have been banded 9 months. I will try your tips!

I haven't been doing so great the last few days as I (do other's experience this much?) just feel like it's tooooo much work (or bother) to eat and so just take a bite of this or that throughout the day, but I KNOW i'm not eating enough...the down side is that I crave sugar in the eves, so I need to get back on track to lose these last two pounds so that I can enter Onderland.
On the plus side, I had a great self confidence booster NSV this am. I took my car in for service and as soon as i'm out of the van two very young handsome service men are right at my door to help me. I can't tell you how many times I was just invisible and they just let me wait for the young man I made the appointment with, later after one of the "hotties" helped me the guy who I was supposed to wait for tracked me down in the waiting area to "check in" with me....the expressions on their faces were the ones I remember from my skinnier days and if any of you know what i'm talking about (it's an appreciative look) there's no mistaking it for just plain good customer service. I'm seeing that happen more and more the places I go, customer service is improving!! I think it is just that I am NOT invisible anymore! I really like it.

Same here, mine was fixed during lapband surgery and I had no clue I had one. I was having symptoms of reflux before surgery, but not bad enough to take anything, and now no symptoms. Nice added benefit

I had my hernia repaired when I had the lap-band. My surgeon said it was a great time to get it done. I know a lot of people that have had it done at the same time with no problems! Good luck!

Debbie3sons reacted to goalseeker in 50lbs...4.5 months
    1. I workout...start with smaller attainable goals.
I started out by walking for 30 minutes 4 days a week. Then started a workout program with my xbox kinect (EA Sports Active 2), still four days a week with some alternating walking. Once I was cleared for abdominal exercises I decided to do a one month program five days a week with the UFC Fitness Trainer game, (I lost 2.75 inches in my waist during that 30 days ) NOW I am addicted and workout 6-7 days. I do insanity 4 days and Couch 2 5K two of the other days and on Sundays I either rest or do something fun like Dance Central.
    2. I count my calories with My Fitness Pal...goalseeker32 if you wanna add me
I didn't get a calorie goal from my dr or NUT so I go by what they tell me to eat to loose 2 lbs a week. Sometimes I am under that (especially now that I have gotten a fill) other days I eat all my exercise calories cause I'm hungry. I stick to the rules, Protein first, then veggies then carbs.
    3. I only weigh once a week
I do not like the ups and downs that come with daily weigh ins. It discourages and frustrates me. I would rather see 2 lbs at the end of the week than .3 for 7 days.
    4. I don't deprive myself of anything
I like homemade ranch dressing, and my Creamer in my coffee so I use it but I count it. I allow myself small tastes of sweets when they are around because this is a lifestyle change not a diet. The diet mentality got me to needing this surgery so I have to break that thinking.
    5. I take measurements monthly so I can see more progress than just on the scale.
    6. When I need smaller clothes, I find a good deal and buy them because it helps me to see my progress.

I'm so happy, I hit 50 pounds down this week and got my first fill. Thought I'd share. It's been hard work but so worth every calorie counted and burned.

Oh yeah I already saw them at the grocery store here. They were parked over by the exit door so I exited through the IN door. I had to stay away from those temptresses and their d*mned delicious Cookies or I'd have been victim to their sweet siren call for sure!!

today i got one and its not silly....it made my day
out of no where this evening, hub came over to me (it was 75 here today and when i got home i put on a tank) and i was watching him polish his ride, he came over and said look at you......i just looked at him..he touched my shoulder and said look at those skinny shoulders and upper arms...i said no way, he said yeah and made me look
and sure enough, there be my collar bone and my upper arm is no longer a log but has some definition and outline....imagine that on me...
