  1. Wow lets hope it gets better for you , ya bed rest & not being able to move like we usually do is frustrating & will put on a few lbs ,I have been off of work since July & had a small surgery in August so I understand some what , but let's hope it's not anything that you & the Doctors can't work with ,get better ,how are you other wise on your surgery from your knee, how is that feeling?
  2. Well I looked online to start with , then I went to a seminar , well that Surgeon ( Dr. Cloak) wanted the $ 8000.00 up front even though my Insurance covered most of it, so I knew someone else who had it done which was a coworker & I went & spoke with that Surgeon & He worked with me & I have been with Him since , Thank You Dr. ATUL MADAN , I REALLY am appreciative for his service & helping me be healthy & to be able to do the things I can now.
  3. Let's see does banding work if you are in your 50"s heck yes it does , as by seeing the pics you can tell the difference they may not be in order but yes if you work with the band & follow your doctor's orders then it works.
  4. Since you are of the age ,I am going to let you know that I guess I was premenopausal & didn't even know it till I was thinking about having surgery & apparently I still am my pcp/ obgyn said it can take a few years well I hadn't had aunt flow for about a year , then a few weeks after surgery here came the river , so I texted my surgeon & told him to call me immediately because I was concerned & he did ,turns out surgery can do that & he said if it didn't stop in a couple of days to call him immediately , well it did stop & I haven't had flow in 2 years yes I am older than you but they say it can happen from the age of 30 , so make a appointment & go see your Doctor's, also I have heard surgery can make it haywire .
  5. Yes drink that Water , also try & drink a 4 oz. Of protein drink but keep drinking that water.
  6. @@JustWatchMe , just remember the young ones have procedures to have thigh gap we have it naturally LOL because we are putting in our work to lose weight be proud of those sagging things we have worked hard to have them.
  7. Mostly when you lose the weight you can only feel the port & you get used to it ,you can't feel the band just the port it really isn't bad like I said you get used to it.
  8. I just had 2 epidural cortisone injections in my back in August & I gained a few lbs like 4 , but they came right back off after a week & I now have to take celebrex for athoritaus but it is not affecting my weight loss my thyroid does , that is just me, but again ask the Doctor or your (band) Doctor they will let you know.
  9. Not that I know of but any one can if they want just make sure & let us know I am not sure how many posts or replies before we should start another one , you can also always find out how CG does or did it .
  10. How Awesome , does that feel I can feel your excitement.:):):):)
  11. I thought I had 11ccs in band but found out a while back it was only 10 ,still going it just seems like I can't shake these last 40 lbs ,that's ok though because everything else is better & I am still under 200 & in the 100s so that's good.
  12. Ok it's that time again ,now it's time to post pics after 2 years I have lost 110 lbs have 40 to go & have 10 1/2 in a 14 cc band the weight still fluctuates because of other issues , but I am happy with what I have accomplished so far , I am doing things I thought I would never do, the first one is a before 2nd zip lining 3rd is me right now so it's slow & steady but I will get there, I think the order might have been changed LOL , so you can tell the difference & understand.
  13. I am so glad that my Surgeon will Facebook or text me even if he's going out of town or whatever that way we know what's going on, he even text us if we haven't seen him in a while to check on us , I would ask if there was someone taking over or if they were sending our records to the person taking over just so I could get some kind of answers.
  14. Mmm what testimony46 said maybe you can have someone take the medicine back to the pharmacy & ask if they can give it to you in liquid form because you have the band & it's hard for you to swallow ,or maybe dissolve it in a bit of water so it will go down , just a suggestion , hope it doesn't last to long.
  15. So are they going to do anything about it , or is it one of those things they can't do anything about , did they give you any thing to help you ? , well I hope it passes for you & you get better & hopefully you can keep something down ,remember though if you start vomiting to much call any or especially your band surgeon so they can look at your band , get better.
  16. That sure didn't sound good ,yes let us know what they say & what caused so much pain.
  17. I don't know if it affects the band in any way ,what I do know is make sure you are not going anywhere those 1 or 2 days & be real close to a bathroom ,because if you think liquids RUN through you now it's nothing compared to after drinking that stuff , also just drink it slow like you do normally & it should be fine ,but always let any Doctor's know you have the band & always ask if anything your doing will affect it, well good luck with it.
  18. Alex You need to put a new pic up, because you look different than your profile pic but still keep the one of you fishing & the other one , congratulations on the article , they really should ask you to have us , show some of our before ,during & even some after pictures if they really want to know that it is not a fast cure all to weight loss ,but if we do our part then it works & yes sometimes there is complications , not to be foreseen, but many of us are succeeding at our weight loss surgeries which ever one that may be.
  19. I really don't have to worry to much but it is funny that everyone in my house sends me for fast food,& when we're out of snacks( chips & being I don't drink soda any more or eat tortillas which tortillas & soda used to be a staple for me , yes I would love to have them again ,but I also don't want the 110 lbs or not being able for my legs to hold up that weight so I have them put it out of sight & in their rooms , because out of my sight is out of my mind & I'm already out of my mind Lol @ SandyM I'm glad you found your chiahuaua & didn't think it was a big snack LoL.
  20. To funny , I guess if you believe , then you will believe .
  21. I finally figured out how to post a few weeks ago so here is a before & during still have like 40 #s to my goal.
  22. I have one & it's blank that is the one I carry.
  23. I didn't have any problems at the airports while traveling when they did the scanners, however if you need a card tell your Doctor what happened & ask him to give you a card ,I have a appointment card that says Lapband on it & I keep it on me just in case of anything.
  24. Ok since a couple of weeks ago & reading these posts I have done the 2 separate day fast & so far I have lost 5 lbs ,so Thank you for the input & info , so hopefully I will keep losing again I was at the same for a few months not just weeks , yes the sizes were & are smaller but I myself REALLY want to hit MY goal.
  25. Any questions or concerns you really should ask your doctor ,because we all have different issues & bodies , so what may be right for me may not be right for you ,so please ask your doctor .
