  1. It was at 3pm yesterday , sometimes I just don't feel like eating and my schedule is also a variable schedule so I am up and down all the time , but I did eat a few almonds like 7 when I got home at 11pm but that's all I had and I don't know if it was because all the water but I got that signal so I stopped and was fine, stomach stopped gurgling , but my stomach does it naturally any way even if I am eating I can put a bite of food in my mouth and it will start rumbling .
  2. Having surgery can make your hormones and other things like us being pre menopausal or just menopausal go wacky , if it were me I would call my surgeon and ask them just to make sure , I also hadn't had my time for about a year and a half before surgery about a week or 2 after surgery it was like my norm and I texted my Surgeon to call me because I had a issue that I needed a answer to and he assured me it was because I had major surgery and if it didn't stop in a few days to call him , and it had and I haven't had one since that week or 2 after surgery , so please ANY CONCERNS call your Doctor .
  3. Ok I haven't had nothing to eat , my stomach is gurgling , but I have had so far 60 oz of water , I will eat dinner when I get home bought 11 pm my time if I am hungry , or I will wait till about 5 pm tomorrow my time if I do it will be some kind of protein then that will be enough, it seems like protein foods fill me up quick.
  4. @@intelirish maybe just grab a pk of almonds somewhere eat a few & hopefully it tides you over for a while.
  5. Just asking are you talking about a Hiatal Hernia or a different kind of hernia , because Usually if you're getting banded they do a Hiatal hernia repair , all I know is I am so Happy they did mine.
  6. I'm glad that we can all laugh at our selfs ,but remember we also did that when we were bigger , now just let us have big personality instead you know what I mean , well I think we all have slipped up here& there with our Journeys ,but it is time with the weather changing that we have to get back on our band wagon & stay focused on the tracks to our success ,good luck to everyone.
  7. @ lisacaron you can always wear that costume again just have to take it is or tailored to fit you now and any extra material make gloves to match it or a belt or something just a thought.
  8. My start weight was 326 or 320 can't remember after 2 years out , that was when I started thinking about it that was my weight then after my consult after the weigh in at the Surgeons office he gave me the pre op papers and instructions and after pre op right before and at time of surgery I weighed 276 , I chose the band because I knew it was revisable if anything happened , I also chose it because I needed help and I saw what happened with other wls on friends, family, and coworkers , I knew when my health started going down and I had to walk with a cane just to hold up my weight because my legs couldn't hold my weight now I can move and walk without a cane and have lost 110 lbs. so far I have 40 more to go to get to my goal of 135 & when I do it will be 150 lbs. I will have lost
  9. I have a 14cc band & I thought a couple months ago that I had 11cc's in my and but my Surgeon said let's check to make sure so he did and I had 10cc's , as of last Wednesday I now have 10 1/2 cc's in the band & apparently it has helped besides me eating healthy , I have other issues so I am always up & down , but only by a few lbs. , but the inches still move off my body.
  10. Just a thought of you who are planning or going to Halloween Parties you pretty much know how to handle being around the alcohol or sweet wouldn't it be a treat to take a cake or food or something that is Sugar free or healthy no one else has to know but since it will be about Halloween why not make ants on a log you know celery with penutbutter or make and a few raisins. or deviled eggs with sliced green olives with pimento in the middle for the eyes or what version ay be , now that we have these options, have fun and not worry or your favorite kind of dip modified your way , besides you dancing , talking and mingiling and moving not to even think about what can I have , that these next Holidays will be even more enjoyable than they have been in the past.
  11. People just being busy & enjoying life now , but it does seem to be a bit quite , Let's see what happens when it starts to cool off a little at least here in California, also with the different chapters going on people are getting to talk to people in person & meet up , I still have to come here because I like the support from people that are far & near.
  12. It seems to be working with me being back at work, , I already lost 3 more lbs I'll take that if it keeps going that way( down) , then I will make it to goal but with my thyroid you never know .
  13. I had hiatal hernia repair when my Surgeon did my band , I am so Happy that he did as before I had MAJOR IBS & gerd, reflux & really bad heartburn , I am 2 years post op & ,still eat spicy foods & have no problems with any of that now ,you are still in the healing process ,it gets better but you will be sore for maybe a week , if it doesn't change then talk to your Doctor , if you are feeling faint, try a sugar free popsicle or sugar free pudding just so you have something , also don't forget to take your vitamins & take the liquid pain meds to see if it helps , also remember to walk around your house for a few minutes when you can , it will be hard at first but it does get better.
  14. @ just watch me I hear you , I have gained & lost & gained since I have been off of work since July do to medical issues but the clothes sizes are still coming off , I am starting back to work so I will be doing this & not even think about it because I don't have time to do anything when I am working I usually eat once a day when I am working , so back on track we go.
  15. As all the above posters have said is right , I have family members who have different surgeries for one reason or another , some of the had great, good & bad experiences , and I watched a couple of coworkers also that had wls before I chose for myself what I wanted to do I, I didn't want anything that I couldn't change and that was permanent if I wanted to , I also didn't like of the Idea of them rerouting or taking part of my stomach out at least that is what I understood at the time so I chose the band , because if there was ANYTHING that happens I could reverse it, as long as you follow the pre op & post op diet & instructions your Surgeon gives you , you will do well, the above posters are a GREAT BUNCH of GUYS & GALS that are giving you advise and suggestions , remember everybody & body is different some of us lose faster, slower or at the same pace sometimes , what ever wls you choose for you is for you , and as we usually d luck on YOUR journey .
  16. YES PLEASE keep us informed as I just got another fill because I was feeling a little loose again and now I have 10cc's in my 14cc band , this was getting me worried also , because I still eat healthy but I do get my cravings , but my cravings I still get are like grilled cheese, peanutbutter sandwiches or Salads with nuts, of course I am not able to do most starchy, carbohydrate foods because they give me the slime , stuck swell feeling but the other day my kids had fries & for desert they had doughnuts , I thought well let me try a fry and I chewed it slow but that's all I could eat for about a hour then I could have my meal but I am not feeling that restriction I had a couple months ago that fry would have came right back up so I was also getting worried I just had everything check also & everything seems to be fine , so I know but I will wait & see if this fill helps because the Doctor & I don't want to be filled to much where He & I are not cable , so I am only 4 n 1/2 centimeters from being at full capacity in the band also and I a not trying to get there either, so this hit me also, I am sorry you have to have surgery again but hopefully they just have to buckle it a little tighter and that's all it is , also I just thought I would ask you and you can let me know but ought they can go back through our scars laprascopy again to tighten & buckle it back, good luck and let us know what happens .
  17. I am not going to make it again, someday I will My Mother is not feeling well & I have to keep a close eye on her & one of my son's got sick , I REALLY wanted to go , I even think I speak with some of you on here , it will be good to meet all of you , I just can't because of the situation , well Sometime , but I wish nothing but the best to all of you and keep going on the Journey.
  18. I really would like to find a answer to the question about the Thyroid as I have been at the same weight for a few and can't seem to get my last 40 lbs off unless I starve my self it seems and I refuse to do that because I have learned to eat healthier and what amounts , so hopefully we will find out thyroid problems are hard , my oldest son is 31 I had thyroid problems before he was born then my second came along 10 yrs later and my thyroid seemed to be fine , now right before the banding in 2012 when they ran the labs it popped up again that it was back and I have been taking the syntroid but I just can't seem to get the last 4olbs off I wing weight & then it just stopped I have lost 110lbs which I am grateful for but I really thought I would be at least by yr, 2 , my clothes are smaller the inches are coming off but the weight won't move and I stick with what I have been doing , but it may take a little longer for me and anyone who has thyroid problems but I will get there.
  19. He looks like he's drowning not because of the snow but in those s , looks like he has lost some weight after the hospital picture.
  20. I don't consider my self a Veteran , but I am 2 years post op of September 28th and I a still learning things , but I try to just suggest things , I am glad you are feeling like a Veteran good for you.
  21. Not to burst your bubble in the parade but remember that pre op instructions , well that's nothing compared to the post op diet & bandster Hell I wanted to bite everyone's head off & you will want to stay away from T.V. because you don't realize how many commercials seem about food , just giving you a heads up , good luck on your journey , remember any meds you have to take ask for them in liquid form because it is easier for a while.
  22. I'm really trying to make it this Saturday .
  23. First of all living with someone else, especially family is hard enough & maybe you hit on something he/she hits home for your Doc & maybe they didn't want to get emotional in front of you , but good for you eating your veggies & knowing when to stop.
  24. Remember to crush your pills because someone so early out & it might help so you can take all the meds you are supposed to & yes some of us have thought in the first few weeks what did I do & I wander will I be able to do this ,but if you really want it you can , just follow what Your Doctor's say , you should be just fine so don't get discouraged , hope everything works out for you.
  25. Since the sleeve wasn't covered , could you have gotten a new band or another kind of wls just curious.
