  1. Hi Vera, Like all the rest, I'm hoping to hear all went well with you in Mexico
  2. Paula you got yourself a deal. Iam in!! 12 lbs by June 1st would put me at 173, I need a jump start I have had no weight loss in 2 weeks now. I am eating good foods and exercising like a crazy woman .I just think my body is resting now. 10 months of continuous weight loss every single week, I was due for a plateau. So I am ready for this challenge!!!

[QUOTE In my opinion, this board has become kind of "clicky". It happens with most boards, you get a group of people that become close and seem to create an inner circle of communication and for the most part shut Very Well said! OMG This is exactly how I have been feeling. I was a guest on this boards for a year before joining just recently and now I'm asking myself why I did. I have felt a conspiracy going on here for about 3 weeks now with a couple of members and it finally came to a head. It is so sad that a couple of struggling members had to take this wonderful board to a level of negativity.

Kelly I have been doing this for years, that is porbably why I look so tan. I have always told my husband that tan fat looks better then whitefat. SOmething about having atan makes me feel so good!
  5. Betty..Im sorry you are having a bad day..birthdays of a loved one who is no longer with us are tough. I know all too well. I hope tomorrow is better for you. Sending you lots of hugs...
  6. Frank so sorry about your loss If you are Pbing 10 times a day, cal lyour doctor. When you PB it is reccomended to go on liquids to let the swelling go down and if you have not this could be why you are still Pbing, you need to rest your esophagus, it is a vicious cycle..so rest and do liquids for a day or two to see if the Pbing is from all of the swelling..Pbing that often can reslut in slippage..

I go to the tanning booth 2 times a wekk and have for years. I can not remember the last time I did not have a tan. I have never tried the spray on tan..I have heard it leaves orange stuff all over your clothes and is very streaky..
  8. Chocolate hampers me
  9. I do not count calories..but I do write down everything I eat on a little pad of paper I keep in my purse . I gives me a visual as to what went in my mouth and helps to see why the scale may have not moved..and helps me to eliminate things I do not really need to eat . I find this very helpful For example today so far I have had 2 eggs whites with spinach, green onions and mushrooms scrambled together with 1 piece of dry wheat toast and 3 pieces of bacon..I did not need that bacon
  10. Amen Alex! What I enjoy the most is not getting up fro mthe table with that full unbotton your pants disgusting feeling..I still enjoy all of the foods I used to eat but in much less quantity..I also find myself making better food choices..some things I can tolerate better then others and some days I can tolerate things better then other days..the band is a fickle thing..for example I can not eat a tortilla, it is my worst nightmare but I can eat bread no problems,I can eat chiicken no problems with out it getting stuck but I pop a tiny jelly belly into my mouth and WHAM restriction..go figure..
  11. Melissa, do not let the numbers on the scale discourage you. I too have been stuck and I know I have been doing great with me eating and exercise. I know I have lost inches regardless of what the scale says. Sometimes our bodies just need a break, when I stop and think about it, my body has lost weight every week for 10 months...thats a long time , the scale is just taking a vacation right now and Iam ok with it....the last few lbs are always the hardest to lose..you will get there, remember this is a journey not a race. You have been successful so far and Iam sure you will continue to be, your body is probably just taking a time out right now too .What you are feeling, just know you are not alone we have all benn there or in my case Im right there with you
  12. Working out with weights can pause your weight loss. I am experiencing the same problem with the scale not moving. I started working out pretty intense the past 3 weeks 4-5 x's a week with weights/ cardio and have only lost 2 lbs..I was told by the trainer at the gym I am acquiring muscle mass from the weights since muscle weighs more then fat, he told me to focus on cardio for awhile so that is what Iam going to do..I know Iam losing inches though since Iam officially in a size 12 and when I started the gym feb 1st the 12's were too tight, dont give up on the exercise maybe just focus on cardio more then the weights, do not let the numbers on the scale discourage you..how your clothes are fitting is the true test!
  13. Jasper . eating sopus will never satisfy you since it is liquid it goes right through the pouch.Once you get to solids you will see that 12 oz of solid protein wil lfeel alot different then 12 oz of liquids. It is almost impossible to stretch the pouch with liquids.

PB stands for productive or painful burping.. It happens when food getsstuck, if you do not chew your food throughly or take small small bites it can happen and when it does, you will get a stuck feeling in your chest like a golfball trying to pass through..you will have lots of slime and foam and your mouth waters like crazy until your esophagus works that piece that is stuck either up which is PB or down....Not a fun thing to experience..once you have it happen you become much more aware of your bite sizes and how well you chew..it is not pleasant.. I got my esophagitis from a piece of bread that was stuck for 30 minutes or so and finally went through my band but none the less my mouth watered, I had the foam and slime..and my esophagus had one hell of a workout trying to get the piece of bread through..

I had them and they were not pleasant. It was painful and I could not eat..I was on liquids. My Dr. prescribed prevacid and some other medicine but it was in Spanish so I did not know what it was..I had esophagitis from a PB gone bad Have you talke dto you Dr. about these spasms? The prevacid worked great for me. You many need something to slow down your esophagus..there are medications for this which is what I took but in Spanish It took about 2 weeks for it to completely go away. I know how uncomfortable they can be..I wish you the best , but a call to your Dr. may be a good idea...Hope you are feeling better soon
  16. Full moon theory works for me:)

Lyle.....What a great site. You all did a fabulous job. I'm looking forward to meeting you all in June
  18. Lisa I was heavier last summer then Iam now..all I was saying was that in the summer and spring when the sun is shining and the weather is warmer and I more active I tend to eat less and eat healthier like more fruits & salads. In the winter I eat more casseroles, pot roasts, potatoes, more of the comfort foods. The weather just plays a part in my food choices is all..I'm still obese. But not for much longer :devious
  19. Hi & Welcome Which one are you on the picture. I went to the web site also Pretty Cool Best of luck to you with your new band. Tomorrow is your big day..Hope all goes smoothly for you
  20. My surgery was April 6th 2004 lost 20 lbs in the first 9 weeks My first fill was June 7th lost another 20 with this fill My second fil lwas August 17th lost 32 with this fill My third fill was Jan 17th and have lost 7 lbs with this one for a total of 80 lbs No one knows how long there fills last it is a personal thing , for me it was when I stopped losing for consecutive weeks following the rules and was able to eat more per meal. I would have to say my 2nd fill was the best, this 3rd fill is strange, my restriction comes and goes, plus the last 20 lbs is the hardest to lose since I am close to goal..
  21. I agree 100%..I am sun freak so when the sun is out my appetite is virtually gone and I'm so busy doing so many things..like today pulling weeds:) ..but when it is raining I like to cook and bake and eat!!!
  22. No offense taken.I'm happy with my Inamed stock..when I bought it in April it was $51 a share and is now at $69 ..there have been some ups and downs with it over the months, but as your advisor said not to invest in it..mine told me to invest in it..it is just a matter of opinion. No heart feelings here
  23. Dr. Rumbaut and Dr. Ortiz are both very qualified and highly experienced band doctors. I am an Ortiz patient and am completely satisfied with him and his entire staff. Best of Luck to you on your upcoming surgery.
  24. Way to go Babs..that is so awesome. I'm so happy for you
  25. Welcome to the world of a bandster..since my surgery I have been bloated and gassy (10 months ago) ..it seems to be a bandster trait to be gassy all the time now since surgery. There is even a thread on it here that I started "Burping & farting, if you do a search you will find it.. You are not alone.. Things change after having the band,. The band works as a a one way valve now, also we bandsters become air swallowers since we have to take such small bites and chew do well..I have learned not drinking through a straw help and not chewing gum helps, two things I did everyday for the first 6 months but since have cut back..
