Cold
I'm cold all of the time too, my Dr. told me it was from 2 reasons #1 I have very low Iron ans #2 I have lost 95 lbs of fat that was insulating me. Have your Dr. do some blood work and see if you are anemic, low iron is a big culprit in always being cold.

My first fill & lots of PB's
Like Betty said, most of us can not eat those things with the proper restriction I know for me my first few bites of food I feel pressure but I wait a minute or two then continue...One thing that works for me to take small bites is to eat from a small (Crab) fork, the tiny forks, it forces me to take smaller bites and it works well. How much did you get on your first fill? Sometimes having as little as .2 of a cc removed can make a huge difference in being able to eat but yet still giving enough restriction to still lose weight. If you are Pbing more then once a week, I would let your Dr. know about it, this is one of the things my Dr. tells me. and he told me Pbing often is not good for the longevity of your band and you could risk the band slipping especially if you are newly banded and the band has not had adequate time to set into place and scar tissue to form. Again like Betty said is true too about doing liquids for atleast 24 hrs after a PB so any swelling in your esophagus will go down or you could start a vicious cycle, eat pb, eat pb. I know this real good, it happened to me and I got the worst case of esophagitis and it was very painful.

VENT HERE - anger about Katrina Relief
You are correct, they both were written after the hurricane but both of the articles clearly stae that the government was warned years beforethe hurricane but neverdid a thing about it. "For years, Washington had been warned that doom lurked just beyond the levees. And for years, the White House and Congress had dickered over how much money to put into shoring up century-old dikes and carrying out newer flood control projects to protect the city of New Orleans"

subway wrap ?
Just because you can doesnt mean you should... Look for that full signal, because you wont get full like you did before. Look for a hiccup, runny nose, pain in the shoulder, etc..for me it is an icecream headache and then I know I'm full If you have restriction then why are you getting another fill? Are you still losing 1-3 lbs a week? Read this site it will help you becasue sometimes it is not a band adjustment we need but an attitude adjustment. I have restriction and I know I do not need another fill..my scale has not moved in a long time its not from lack of restriction, it is from lack of following the rules and self control.. I know this, and I know I need to get back on track. http://lapbandtransformation.com/Adjustments.htm

Mom off to Tijuana for daughter's lapband surgery
I do not know what hotel or hospital Dr. Kuri uses but I went to Tj for my surgery with a different Dr. and I was completely satisfied with the hotel and the hospital that my Dr. uses. Both were satisfactory to me. I have no regrets or complaints, Iam a very happy MX patient. There are several women here who were banded by Dr. Kuri who Iam sure will reply to your concerns and questions. Best of luck to your daughter.

VENT HERE - anger about Katrina Relief
Not true, it was stated that they were warned that something like this was going to happen within the next 3-5 years. By the patterns they have been monitoring. A September 1 AP article notes that scientists had predicted the worst: "experts repeatedly cautioned that the protective system was unlikely to prevail if a Category 4 or Category 5 hurricane like Katrina hit the city." Despite the 2004 hurricane season being the worst in decades, however, the federal government made the biggest cuts in hurricane and flood-control funding for New Orleans in history, preventing millions of dollars’ worth of necessary work from being completed, according to a September 2 Editor & Publisher article: here are other articles saying they were warned of a CAT 5 being possible http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/politics/la-na-levee4sep04,1,989132.story?coll=la-news-politics-national http://www.mediainfo.com/eandp/news/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1001054510 . I do agree with you that the blame if any should go on the local and state government. The buses should of been there before the storm not after the fact, if they are going to make it mandatory evacuation like they did then they should of had means of transportation available for those who did not have any.

Two weeks post-op, with no problems... Can I now eat mushies?
I do agreee with Alex that 4 weeks of liquids is a long time but I also agree with herfor you to cal lyour Dr. to see if you are able to start mush earlier. Every Dr. has his or her reason for their post op instructions and every Dr. has a different post op diet.

Feeling very,very,Blue!!
Hey do not beat yourself up, we all have our bad days. None of us are perfect bandsters. I know I'm not but the key is to take it one day at a time and if you mess up today, there is tomorrow, just get right back up and start over. To answer your question, YES YES YES whenever I get a fill it is so rejuventating, it is like a brand new start. It re motivates me in a big time way. Your emotional rollercoaster is normal too post op...I remember crying all of the time the first few weeks, many others have done thesame thing. It gets better. Hng i nthere and I hope your fill rejuvenates you too

We've moved!

Is There Any Hope For Me????????
Cindy, one thing that has worked for other bandsters here who are struggling is to make a phone call to another bandtser when the urge to binge comes over you. You can call me, PM me for my phone number if you would like to call me for support I will help to get you through it, we all battle the same demon here and none of us a perfect bandsters. I just ate ice cream just now, but I'm not beating myself up over it. Tomorrow is a new day and a fresh start.
