  1. There is a Dr. in Van Nuys..I beleive. His name is Billy Helmuth, you can send Penni60 a PM, she is a very happy Dr. Billy patient. I eroded but I lost more then 60% of my excess weight. I loved my band and would not change a thing other then still having it, but it did its job.. I'm happy and healthy
  2. Too tight will definately slow down your weight loss..you will fall into the soft food syndrome and the liquid calories syndrome both offer no restriction to the band and therefore you will eat more calories & eat more often. Not many soft foods or liquids that have a whole lot of protein either..Being too tight can also cause other problems with your band as well..not worth it..this is a life time experience..no need to rush to have too tight restriction.
  3. Teresa...Please give her my best...this saddens me deeply. This is happening too often here on LBT There are several of us who have eroded in recent months..both from Lopez and Ortiz. When was she banded? I'm curious to know if it was around the same time frame that Lisa, Penni, Francesca and myself were banded. I had no pain and felt fine too.
  4. Erin..I'm so sorry ot hear your story. I too lost my band so I can relate to some of youre pain and frustration. There are several of us here who just lost their bands recently..together we all can succeed. Sending you hugs :cake:
  5. Right on Margo..Great NSV:clap2:
  6. Yes it can happen, I had it happen to me with my last fill I had in July and by October I was much tighter..had the best weight loss in October then I had had in 19 months but I also found out I was eroded in November:(..Other people here have said the same thing that their fills got tighter over time..others lose restirction over time..

Anyone hear from Teresa ( Hagerteresa)..I have not seen her online for a long time now.
  8. Lins be careful of the Paxil, that was my demise to my weight gain, it slows down your metabolic rate to almost zero. I gained 65 lbswith it in a year and a half. Welbutrin will make you nauseaus so you wont want to eat which for us bandsters is a goodthing I guess. I have had many dwon days..more so lately not having my band any more. You are normal..dont beat yourself up over it though..tomorrow is a new day
  9. I put on sexy bra and panties and I now wear high heals which are both things I never did pre band..I have a bra and panty fettish now that I have lost over 100 lbs.
  10. Everytime you PB you will swell..this is why Dr.'s say to do 24 hrs of liquids after a PB..if you are not doing this and continuing to eat this could be your problem you have lots of swelling, give your stoma and esophgus a rest for a day or two.It becomes a vicious cycle if you PB then eat, PB then eat..I know this first hand..I did not do 24 hrs of liquids after a PB and continued to eat and I had a horrible case of esophagitis for 2 weeks.. As far as not losing weight..you are not eating enough to lose weight , plain and simple.. you are not getting in 60 grams of Protein either...you need to eat more as hard as it may be..but not until you give things a rest for a day or two even though you think the weight should be falling off cuz you are not eating, it would be my guess your body thinks it is in starvation mode and is conserving every calorie you put into it...up your caloric intake to atleast 1200 calories a day and the scale should move.
  11. Damn Girl! What a GREAT NSV...WOOHOO 70 lbs gone and she's ridin the bull..lovin it!
  12. Alex what a great story..I'm so happy for you...Be proud girlfriend
  13. Jenna, Happy Birthday my friend. Hope your day is special.
  14. Dayna, I am so sorry to hear of your erosion..just know I feel your emotions. I too eroded 2 months ago. I had great success with my band and do not regret it for a single second...best of luck to you andyes I do know of a woman whos band eroded and she waited the 6 months and just had a new one put back in in december.
  15. Tell Chris I'm proud of him..my husband gave up smoking for the New Year and I' loving it..I love to kiss & hug him now, sex has never been better. I used to hate to have him close to me cuz he would reak of ciggarette smoke and I'm a smoker but not a 2 pk a day smoker like he was..I smoke a pack in 3 days I wash my hands after every cigarette and have a mint or something to make my breath smell good. It has been the toughest thing my husband has ever done but he has done it so far..it has only been 17 days though. He is like Chris, he sleeps better, feels better and seems to have become a better father from it spending more time with the boys. Way to go Chris, you too Lisa for this new found will power..I think I need to start calling you now for support..being bandless is tough. I'm working my head like never before..exercising more since the weight is not coming off and Iam able to eat larger portions. No weight gain so far though and I'm tickled pink about it!
  16. Lisa, I give myself one bad day a week, so dont beat yourself up over lasts night fiascal..you'll be fine. It is usually Mondays for me since I weigh Monday mornings..my bad day is all day Mondays..it gives me all the rest of the week to do good. I love weighing in on Mondays it makes me accountable over the weekend and I make better food choices on Sat & Sun
  17. You go girlfriend! I'm proud of you..you will be there in no time! I'll even send you a present
  18. It has been said that many US docs are very conservative on their fills only giving .5 cc's at a time where as MX docs are much more agressive. US docs want to sneak up on restriction and MX docs want restriction quickly. Just what I was told by my Dr.
  19. I eroded and I was a model bandster, ask several people here they will verify this for you.... never once did I take any NSAID's, Never once did I drink carbonation in 19 months , I pb'd 5 times in 19 months, never vomited from illness. I ate Protein first, I did not stuff my pouch, I did not ever have a too tight of a fill. I had only 3 fills to lose all of my weight. I exercised, I drank my Water, took my Vitamins..erosion can happen to the perfect bandster or the not so perfect bandster.
  20. Margo, we are now entering the winter season which to me is comfort food season. One thing that helps me is to journal my food. When it is in black and white on paper it seems to do something to your brain and you start making better choices. I also journal why I ate what mood I was in and what degree of hunger I had and what I was doing at the time I ate..I see patterns , once I see a pattern I try to correct it. It works! Hang in there and you know you are not alone by all of the replys here.
  21. I lost 1206 lbs in 19 months, I loved my band but I eroded, and I have no regrets. My band and I worked wel ltogether, it did its' job and I am happy to report in the 2 months I have had no band I have had NO weight gain. I learned from my band and got my head on straight.
  22. Relax, go on liquids for a day or two, give your band, esophagus and stroma time to rest and swelling to go down, eat slower, use a smaller fork ( crab fork) to help you to take smaller bites, do not wait so long between meals so by the time you eat you are famished and inhale your food. It takes time to learn but you will...PBing is not good for your band, you risk slippage so take it easy..slow down a bit.
  23. I'm an eroded bandster but none the less I am still a happy bandster
  24. The scale is not my friend..it is my enemy!
  25. OMG It is definately bras and panties ( thongs) oh and jeans, nice tight ass showing jeans
