Am i sliming/stuck?
I have this overproduction of clear mucus coming up. Then coughing/sputtering/gagging followed by unproductive wretching. WTH?

What did your doc suggest as a goal weight?
150 would put me at a BMI of around 25 so that's my initial goal, then I'll reassess at that point.

Protein
Wendy's chili, homemade chili (try adding beans for extra protein or buffalo meat or venison to lower the fat content). Frozen edamame is fun to eat and yummy. Greek yogurt packs a lot of protein in one serving. Eggs in any form and meats in any form (chicken, fish, turkey, pork, beef, etc). Turkey bacon is yummy. Cheese an cottage cheese. Make up some taco meat or spaghetti sauce with meat.

Healthy Sweet?
I "like" dark chocolate but don't "love " it so I'm able to keep the Hershey Bliss or Dove dark chocolate individually wrapped pieces Onhand for times when I'm craving chocolate. I keep them in a sealed container on the top shelf of the pantry so that I really have to want them. I've also found a chocolate protein drink at Wal Mart that is like chocolate milk to me. They sell it in the milk and juice case.

enough protein
Check out my post entitled Delicious Smoothie (I think it's one or two posts after this one). Also try steamed edamame with sea salt. If you've never had it, just ask here. We will tell you how to prepare and eat. It's easy, yummy and kind of fun! Also of course add nuts and the occasional peanut butter or almond butter. I know these are all basic answers and don't entirely answer your question but still I HTH.

Delicious Smoothie
I made a delicious new smoothie today! Here's the recipe if you want to try it: 1 C (8 oz) unsweetened almond milk 1 scoop Protein powder (I used Cytosport) 1 small container (8 oz) chobani yogurt (I used strawberry) 4-8 frozen cherries 1 packet splenda A handful of crushed ice (I keep ice from Sonic onhand) Mix in a blender on high until smooth. Makes about 20 oz (or two servings) Per 10 oz. Serving: Calories-300, fat-3g, protein-23g

scared to eat
Mine says liquids for 48 hours. But he also swears that Diet Coke and other carbonated drinks will not cause problems with band. (not right after a fill though). I say follow what your doc says.

Ideas for "mushies" phase
Wendy's chili gently rolled through the blender is yum. Also, any fave soup. I used the chicken enchilada from Whole Foods or Chilis.

5 Months Out & No Real Weight Loss-Is This Normal?
So, did any of you fail to lose much weight until you reached the green zone? Sometimes I feel like not even trying until I've reached that elusive green zone!

So, here goes! pics
Wow! I can really see a difference. I was banded 7 weeks ago, am in bandster hell, and am very frustrated. This is really motivating, so thanks for having the courage to post these. You're doing wonderfully!

December 2012 --- Band Buddies Unite!
Untamed, interesting. My doc says 60g protein at least and 850-1000 calories. He has noticed that patients actually lose better if they do closer to 1000 calories a day.

Loathing water after fill
What jendkopp said. I made a serious effort at water yesterday and only managed less than 40 oz. Keep working at it and forcing it.
-
Clear liquid phase and pills?
You might also try taking them with a warm liquid and/or holding them in your mouth with water to let them dissolve a bit.

Who has been super successful?
Kime-Lou, would you share your recipe for homemade chx pot pie?

So I Go Back To Drs On Feb 21st For My 1st Fill, Can Anyone Please Explain To Me The Amount Of Fluid They Put In The Band
I got my first fill three days ago. Here's my experience: they put in 6 cc and then had me take a sip of water. I could feel the water all the way up in my throat so they removed some. We did this about four times until I could no longer feel the pressure from the water and it passed through the stoma easily. I ended up with 2.8 cc which she said is about averAge.

Deer meat
If you're nervous to try it, mix it 50/50 with beef until you're comfortable. The same goes for buffalo. Both are very lean and much healthier than beef. I'm just now making the switch.

First fill.... So glad its over
I also got my first fill yesterday. My port is right under the skin and cam be felt easily but it was flipped over AND sideways. She had to really manipulate it to try to flip it, which hurt bad. They try not to use lidocaine but will if necessary. She finally dis and that was much better. Had to stick me twice. Like someone else said, it's important to lay flat with your knees down. Mine is pretty sore today but I'm sure it won't last.

Fill still no restriction

What's the tastiest lowfat cheese? Both sliced and grated.
