  1. Thanks for chiming in. I've been overweight I guess half of my life but been obese maybe since my second child 2003. I'm one of the people that has a lower BMI so I don't have hundred/s of pounds to lose so I don't foresee myself having sagging skin. Yeah that's what my friend sounds it bobble head, but I guess I will monitor my look and when I get to where I am comfortable I will stop.
  2. Has anyone thought of how different they may look after losing weight. Will you be able to accept the new look? Will you look funny or sick? My best friend told me not to lose too much because my head will be big and my body will be little. She said I was going to look like Al Sharpton. My hubby on the other hand told me not to worry about that, he said wasn't you small before with that same head.
  3. I did HCG in April 2011 it was the best I had ever found!!!!! The weight stayed off for about a year, but it did come back, and that's when I had had enough of the fad diets and decided the surgery. I had lost 32 lbs in about 2 mths or less. But I do agree you will do HCG eating only 500 calories a day but then will go back to your band life and possibly gain some weight back.
  4. I was self pay so I didn't have to do all of that. Sent from my iPad using LapBandTalk

I'm doing shake for breakfast and lunch and low sodium soup for dinner. Today I had a gladiator smoothie which was much better than my normal but still craving. I still have until Monday for soft foods. What can I do?

  14. I'm 35 7 days post op and yes you are right I've only told hubby n mom of course favorite aunt and two best friends. So far so good. I started pre op on 10/21 as of today I'm down 17lbs. Ready to start working out something I thought I would never say, but since I'm young I know I can get my body to hopefully tighten so I won't have to have a tummy tuck. My hubby and I are planning my 13 yr wedding anniversary trip and I wanna look fabulous for the first time ever in a swimsuit since we've been married. Hoping and planning to go to Hawaii Sent from my iPad using LapBandTalk
  15. I'm only told my mom, hubby, aunt, and two best friends that's it nobody else!!!!!!
  16. My BMI was low not as low as yours. Mine was 34.5 and I'm 5'5 212 lbs 35 yrs old and I have been losing and gaining for the past 13 years. Myself also have a family of obese women and that was one of my decision makers. My mom had the surgery three years ago, and she was very supportive of my decision. My husband not so much at first but once I started explaining my reasons for wanting it he finally decided that it may be best for me. He was never one that wanted me doing all these diet pills and diet drinks so one of my convincing tactics was either I can have this surgery or I will continue to take and do all this different diets to try to keep the weight off. So I would not tell you no its totally your decision I'm trying to lose around 60 lbs. So just continue to pray and talk about it with people on here and you will come up with your decision. Btw I was self pay not because of my BMI only because it was an exclusion on my insurance policy.
  17. Is it one cup cooked or uncooked? Like do you cooked he mashed potatoes and then put it in a measuring cup?
  18. I love my decision the first couple of days I was upset and angry at myself I was like I can't believe I put myself through all of this pain. But the pain is slowly going away the scale is decreasing so I'm happy. My cost ended up being $5500 because I had a hiatal hernia. Good luck to u!!!
