Banduser got a reaction from DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! in Please Help Me Understand Post Op Diet Rules Normal Diet Importance Of Carbs & Cals
You definitely need a nutritionist. My surgery was done at Carolina Medical Center through the Carolina Weight Management Program. This program is one of the 5 Joint Commission certified programs in the country. Prior to my surgery, the nutritionist did a Resting Metabolic Rate on me so we know EXACTLY how many calories my body burns as rest. This number was used to make a custom designed diet. Like others have said, Protein helps to keep you feeling full. All programs are different and all surgeons are different. Please get expert advise.

Banduser reacted to Juli Salzman in Survived My 1St Fill, But I'm A Bit Annoyed
It seems to me that she should be asked that question a lot. I think most banded patients want to stay abreast of what's going on with their bodies. My first fill should be next week and I'm sure going to ask!

To Mis73. Your advise about climbing in to bed was the best advise I have received. I have been sleeping comfortable ever since crawling in to bed! Thanks.

Banduser reacted to FLORIDAYS in Recently Banded And Wondering If I'm Doing Everything Right...
1000 calories was my number.... I ate that before my first fill , after , when i was in the green zone and even today ...9 lbs from my goal I eat 1000 calories most each and every day. As much as the band isn't a diet... Until you hit the green zone you must treat it as such. I was very motivated to get the weight off as soon as possible so I just focused on everything other than eating... And the weight dropped. My first hundred came off in 7 months. The 2nd hundred took about a year. Of course no two people are the same but if you burn more calories than you take in simple math says you will lose weight.
All the best to you
