I'm getting banded on Dec. 4th. So far I have told my husband, my parents, my boss, 3 coworkers, and an old coworker who was banded 2 years ago. So far everyone I have told has been very supportive. I haven't told any of my friends though. They are all relatively thin and very health conscientious. I have a fear that they will all judge me and think I'm taking the easy way out or that I haven't tried "conventional" means of weight loss hard enough. I'm sure I will tell them eventually. I'm just not sure when. I am planning on vlogging my journey and posting my videos on YouTube so it's possible that anyone could see those videos and find out. I'm ok with that. I feel like I'll be judged less if I tell people I have the band after I'm actually banded vs telling them pre-banding because at that point their opinion doesn't matter since I'll already have the band lol.

feeling amazing a year later 80lbs down and much healthier and happier than i was a year ago. for those of you who are still debating on the surgery i can tell you that i am extremely happy today that i had the surgery a year ago. words cant express how much my life has improved i look better i feel better and i am much healthier. the hard pre op diet and all the post op recovery is worth it and it pays off

Mama2girls- I'm a nurse too so I know where you are coming from. My biggest fear is of complications down the road like erosion or a slip. I'm confident that the surgery will be fine. I'm choosing to be confident that this will work for me. I know if I follow the rules it will. If I don't, it won't. I'm going to work my band so that I'm successful. I really believe that people who fail with the band fail because they don't follow the rules.

I started the C to 5k program last april....9 week program.....took me about 15 weeks to complete because if I hit a roadblock during a given week, I would go back and start the entire week over.
I then moved on to the C to 10k....
Now, I run 5 miles, 5 days per week......
I had hit my weight loss goal months ago, but running has caused me to continue to drop clothing sizes.....changes your body, for sure!
Did I mention I'm 61 years old and had one heart attack? resulting in coronary surgery? Because of the Lap band, loosing weight and starting a rigorous exercise routine, my cardiologist and other Dr.'s say I am their most remarkable patient!

Keep us updated. I decided to get banded so that I can lose weight to get to a healthy weight so that I can have healthy pregnancies in the future. Congratulations and best wishes for the rest of your pregnancy!

I'm happy to report that surgery went very well. I went into surgery at 9. Woke up around 10:30 from anesthesia and left to go home at 12. I've been able to lay in my bed on either side and sleep for and hour and a half at a time. I've been walking around a lot in between naps. I have no gas pains. My pain in my stomach just feels like I did a bunch of sit-ups. I'm also tolerating drinking fluids well and have had nausea. I hope the rest of the day continues this well. I have no regrets!

I've been able to lay in my bed on either side and sleep for and hour and a half at a time. I've been walking around a lot in between naps. I have no gas pains. My pain in my stomach just feels like I did a bunch of sit-ups. I'm also tolerating drinking fluids well and have had nausea. I hope the rest of the day continues this well. I have no regrets!

Today is the day for me. I'm getting up and getting ready now. I have to be at the surgical suite at 8:30. I'll let you all know how I do when I'm coherent again lol

Hi guys! I've been on the boards for about a month or so. I'm being banded on 12/04. I decided to start a YouTube channel to document my journey. My channel name is lovelyrestriction. I have found a lot of help from watching YouTube videos and want to be able to contribute to others. If you are interested feel free to check my channel.
