I was sleeved on Monday (5/21) I am also a side sleeper but that has been impossible. I have been sleeping on the recliner. It’s easier to get in and out of. Best of luck to you.

I’m scheduled for May 21! I’ve been anxiously awaiting getting a surgery date and now I’m feeling the anxiety. Got preregistered at hospital today. Blood work, EKG and chest X-ray done also. Once they handed me the Hibiclense, I realized this is happening.

I just got approved today and have surgery scheduled for May 21st. I’m a former lap-band patient. Now getting sleeved. I’m extremely excited but scared at the same time. It all just got very real very quick.

    Hi there!
We have our psych evals on April 19th. They will submit to insurance after that is done. I keep reading up and doing my research and my husband says I’m silly. I just want to be sure I’m doing the right thing. I’m also afraid of Hair loss since my hair is already thin. So your big day is tomorrow? I’d love to be in your shoes right now. Please keep me posted. We’re Texas buddies. Good luck tomorrow!!

Hello everyone, I live in San Antonio Texas. My husband and I are diving in this together. We had our consult on April 6. We were told that we had the “Cadillac of insurance plans” and the only requirements were a nutrition consult and a psych evaluation. No waiting period. I was expecting a lot of requirements and waiting. But since that isn’t the case, I’m a little scared. It’s moving very quickly. One minute I’m thinking of backing out, the next I wanna be on the operating table already. I’ve had a lap band that failed and had to be removed so I’m a little scared of going through similar problems again (It was a nightmare). I’m hoping for insurance approval in the next week or 2.

14 months after gastric sleeve surgery, I'm sporting a BMI under 25. It's absolutely ridiculous what I've accomplished with the help of this tool. But it has been HARD.
Nowadays, I still feel like a fat girl, and I do micromanage all the food that goes into my body (my friends are making fun of me for it now that I'm "slim") so that I can either keep losing or at least keep this weight off. I wish that wasn't such a big part of my life, and I didn't have to think about it all the time, but that's the way it has to work! There's a lot of habits that have changed unconsciously too, so it's not all too difficult.
I had tons of stalls and tears along the way and I started a new phase of my life while in my losing phase, so I can relate to many out there who are fighting through it. I'm happy to talk to anyone who might benefit from sharing their struggles!
    xoxo

Been following along on this app for a while now kinda in the shadows LOL!! I got a ton of useful info from the forums though that helped me so much so far along the way!!! I know I still have a while to go but I just wanted to share my progress so far after a little more then a year in after getting sleeved. I thank god every day for the second chance he gave me! I won’t mess up this time! Never in a million years did I would be able to lose 365 lbs EVER let alone in a little more then a year LOL!!

    Hello!
I am in the same boat with you. I had my band put in in 2012 and removed in 2017. It was fine for the first year or so then BAM, one problem after another. Couldn’t keep anything down. Sometimes even liquids. I couldn’t wait to get that thing out. The surgeon asked if I wanted any type of revision at the time of removal and I said “no”
I thought “I can do this on my own”
A year later I’m 30 lbs heavier and had a consult for sleeve this past week. I was told this is almost a 100% guaranteed approval because I have a very good BCBS plan. Only need one nutrition class (which I did that same day) and a psych evaluation. No waiting period. When they told me that, I got scared, nervous, excited. I’m reading everything I can, having doubts one minute then “I’M DOING THIS!” the next minute. I’ve been struggling with my weight for 20+ yrs. I’m tired. I’m ready.

I have no problems with food going down. I take small bites and chew my food well. I will vomit if I eat to fast or don't chew my food well. (I learned that lesson quickly).

I had a gastric bypass in April. I'm down over 70lbs since surgery and I feel great. Tonight I went public about the surgery so I felt like I was coming out. I feel good about the progress. The comparison is crazy to see. Because you don't see it day to day.
