What is MFP? I also an not a veggie eater. I do love salad and have never had dressing in my life, so I am good eating salads before my dinner, about 1 hour before.
I have awful gas after every meal. I was told that is common and my husband doesn't make rude remarks anymore.
I go for my second fill the week after Thanksgiving. My weight hasn't changed much but I am losing inches. I take my measurements
on the 6th of each month, but I didn't start until September and my heaviest was in March and surgery July 30th. So I really don't know how large I was except by clothes.
Good luck!!
MFP - my fitness plan. GREAT website to track what you eat! Very helpful overall!!!

Thanks for the info. I'm going to need to work harder on this, because I know how important it is. Ill have to see if I can find the calcium citrate in gummy style. My fiber & multi-vitamins are gummy style, and at least enjoyable

Thanks, it went ok, I suppose. It's a tough time, but we'll just make the best of it.
We're going to have a consultation with Hospice & decide if it's something we want to use. Hoping it's something that works out.

It's not easy, but gosh my dad is such a trooper. He goes with the flow, and it almost makes us "forget" that he has cancer. It'll be OK, because we'll just continue to be there & provide support. It won't be easy, but we'll make it.
In the meantime, I want my dad to see me getting thinner & hopefully healthier. I know he wants what's best for me.
Appreciate your kind words!

Thanks for the advice! Will have to focus on practicing those ideas.

@Hoover, welcome to the site. This is a great place to find support. Oh my gosh, you poor thing. What you describe is definitely not something normal, and quite frankly, your Dr sounds like an ass. He should be listening to you. That's what you pay him for. Please don't give up, but rather insist that he run the right tests, and help you. I'm so sorry you have to go through this, and I wish you the best.
@downhomechik > I don't feel the pull every day, but a few times a week. it is close to the surface & not deep inside. It feels like a pull. I don't think it's related to being too tight because i can usually eat without any problems. I do struggle with eating slowly & learning how to chew, chew, chew though. And, lately I'm a gas bomb that can go off at any time. THankfully, I stay away from others, but still annoying...

Hi, my name is Fran, and I'm also a scale-o-holic!
Oh my gosh, I read this & thought I should just do a copy & paste this and put it on my own blog. :~0
I can't help myself either. I weigh myself in the morning then again before bed time. The last weigh in will usually tell me if the scale will go down in the morning, or that's what I tell myself.
I almost cried when I read that your scale died. I don't know what I would do. No, wait. I do know what I would do. Thankfully, Walmart is open 24 hours... LOL
Hang in there AJ. We know better, and one day, we might stop looking so much!

Sorry to hear about your loss.
I can kind of relate to you as my dad has been in Stage 4 cancer for quite some time. He's defeated the odds as he was diagnosed with colon & liver cancer in Feb 2011. They successfully removed a large mass from his colon in March 2011. They only gave him 6 - 9 months to live. That was 20 months ago. Mind you, he chose not to do any chemo, or take any meds.
He's still with us, but we just found out the cancer has spread to his lungs, and the prognosis is now maybe 3-6 months. It's hard to deal with the news, when he still "looks" ok.
My apologies as I digress. Stay strong as I know the stress can be difficult to deal with at times.
God bless & good luck to you

Hey there, just keep in mind we're all different, and hopefully you'll learn to eat sloooooowly & actually chew your food instead of inhale it :-) Every day is a new learning opportunity.
Yea, let's call it that - "a learning opportunity!" HA!

I'm no Dr, but my guess is also that this is food related. I know you say you've been following a gluten free diet for 2 years, but, perhaps, there is something that you are eating that is causing this gassy, painful problem. I don't know, but maybe cheeses, yogurts, dairy?
Wish I could help more, but I'd really look into what you're eating. Congrats on the great weight loss.
Good luck & feel better!

I guess my problem is that I always "used" to swallow my food. I mean, I hardly chewed it, then swallowed. Now, I have to chew 100 times, then chew it again.
I'm "still" afraid to eat anything solid... My sturnum was a little tender yesterday, and this happened on Sat night. I was actually worried that I hurt myself some how. Well, I guess I did if my stomach tossed it back up at me... ;-0

Kinda crazy, isn't it? Now I'm watching every single thing that goes into my mouth. I'm afraid to try anything that's not soft food. But, I'm guessing that at some point I will get there.
Good luck to you too. :-)

I am so with you my dear! It's hard to stay on track, but I'm so afraid of over-eating & feeling like poop. Read my blog from today. Oh, so entertaining :-(
So, how much weight have you lost so far? I was filled on 8/17 & have lost 18 pds as of yesterday. Keep in mind, I lost "15" the first week so only 3 little pounds the last 3 weeks. I'm still trying to figure out what I can eat & how much.
This should be a fun ride... LOL
Good luck 2 u 2!

Thanks guys. It's so hard to stay positive sometimes, but I know the weight didn't get here overnight, so it won't go off overnight
Take care

That's AWESOME! I think it's great when people start noticing because it makes your confidence go up, and makes you get fuzzies all over. Good for you!!!
I can't wait to get back into my Size 18 (and then less). I'm currently at a size 22 (227.6pds), and have almost 30 pds to lose before I can get back into them. Looking forward to that feeling!

I haven't had my first fill yet, so I'm not sure what that feels like. I don't think it would hurt to call your Dr just to see what he says. He's there to help!
Have fun in Disney!

LOVE the skinny girl eating a cheeseburger comment. I think ANYONE who is overweight can relate, LOL.
I'm having surgery in 2 days, so I'm uber nervous about the whole post-op process. Heck, I'm nervous about the clear liquid diet for several days.
No doubt I'll be joing the bandwagon in no time....
Speak your mind. That's what our posts should be about

Oh my gosh, I've got the same allergy. Who would have known it was such a common ailment? LOL
I like the idea of using a bathroom on another floor, but we only have 2 floors right now. In May, our new office building will have 4. Of course, I'll be on the 2nd floor again, but great idea to go up & down the stairs.
Keep moving! I like it!
