  1. Speedy recovery to you. I would join you guys tomorrow.
  2. I think EAS is completely fine. I mean there is nothing wrong to drink shakes 4-5 times a day. I am drinking atkins advance shakes with 15g protein as well and I love them. and drinking them every 2.5 hours enjoyable thing you can buy protein powder and add it to the chicken broth if you don't want to drink sweet shakes.
  3. I would say it might be your shake contents. check the sugar and carbs in your shakes. another thing is "critical days" my weight goes up for 3-4 lbs during that time.
  4. VElena and Jenn, Good Luck both or you.
  5. I am not hard I am just trying to tell that one small mistake can ruin the whole picture. I am sure you will not so this again. ( inside my mind I am just jealous that I didn't have that chicken ) Does anyone notice that the same liquid food make you tired and sick of it? I am trying to do some changes. first I make myself the chicken broth, after I did the vegetable broth and now I am coking chicken with vegetable together. I just hope that it would help me to survive for 2 more days before surgery and a week after my surgeon told me that the week after surgery I would be on the same diet.
  6. I am another one for September 7 don't know the time yet.
  7. I had nuclear stress test for my cardiology clearance. if you have just stress test you would be asked to go on treadmill and they will monitor your heart. with increasing speed on the treadmill. If it is nuclear as I have they will do the shot of isotops and would take the pictures of your heart before exercise and another shot during and picture after.
  8. Speedy recovery to you, and don't forget to walk. Share your experience whenever you can/want, please.
  9. Newgrandma, Common you can handle the liquid diet I agree it is hard but Fried chicken please don't eat it again... you don't need it.... I am not sure what wrong with this day. I wasn't bad but I was very hungry today. and I think I drink more shake then I suppose to. I am not too worried because it is just protein ( and calories of cause but I don't care).
  10. Something to read : http://bariatrictimes.com/2012/05/16/taste-changes-after-bariatric-surgery-what-to-do-when-your-patients-cannot-stand-the-taste-of-their-food/
  11. Good Luck tomorrow.!!! and speedy recovery.
  12. I had my pre op visit with my surgeon today and it went pretty good. He was human and talk to me not like last time when I feel him to be a robot. I would have surgery on Friday morning, will find out time on Thursday. My scale decided to strike I only lost .5 lb might be I didn't drink a lot yesterday, will see. Does anyone has a problem with wanting to cook a lot while on the clear liquid diet? I always want to cook something fancy... it make me feel better
  13. Hold on.... I am sure the Doctor office can do the appeal. Can you call insurance yourself and ask why you were denied?
  14. Good Luck!!! and don't forget to walk after surgery.
  15. Welcome, and good luck with approval. this is great place to get a lot of answer to your questions. Good luck with trip and enjoy it before surgery.
  16. I asked my Surgeon how much I can expect to loose and he said that around 80lbs, MIGHT BE ( he was very doubt) 100lb. and I was so upset. I need to loose at that point 116lbs ( and still be with bmi of 25.1 which is obese) I asked the similar question and got great answers you will loose as much as you want if you doing everything right and exercise. when I went to my Dr. appointment I met the lady who had surgery 4 months ago and lost only 40lbs and I first think it is not a lot. but she told that she is not doing exercises and not drinking a lot of water as she should and this is the reason.
  17. Sorry, you have surgery on 9/10 you start your liquid diet on 9/10 also? you mean you don't have it before surgery?
  18. I know that this come in mind but before surgery i am sure you was asked 1000 times your name and what procedure you are having.... Also right before the start all doctors have "stop time" when they need to make sure that they got the RIGHT patient, and to check again that they are doing the right procedure on you. and they need to document it as well. SO I really doubt that there is a big chance to do the wrong procedure
  19. Thank you everyone. My husband always was with me during any procedure, but he hate waiting.... ( I think he is just scared himself but doesn't admit this). I need to come up with kids care plan and I already told him that he would be with me because I want him to....
  20. I don't think so , but this is the long weekend so everyone is just relaxing and take time off from the PC.
  21. I have a question. Do I need to have my husband with me the day of the surgery? Look like my surgery would be around 3:30pm till 5:45pm ( not sure just approximate time) How long after that I would spend in the recovery room? Do I need my husband to be their? because he need to take care of 3 kids and if he need to be their we need to find someone to sit with kids. because right now we are thinking that he would just wait the call from the doctor how the surgery went and he would see me next morning. But I am scared a bit to be alone in the recovery room. Any Advice? Am I selfish?
  22. I am another one who weight myself in the morning before any food intake. I just think that it should be consistence time, so you better see the weight difference.
  23. I had my first appointment with Doctor on July 23rd and my surgery schedule for September 7.
  24. Girls, who are on liquid diet. Does your body goes to starvation mode and you didn't loose a lot on liquid pre op. I just wonder if this can happened.
