  11. You know an Alzheimer's patient once told me many many years ago it is not how deep you fish but how you wiggle the worm that mattets
  12. I had read that for every 10 pounds lost you gain an inch in length I was looking forward to adding over 10 inches since I lost 105 pounds but you won't believe this but it did not happen. LOL
  13. My friend is doing good after 5 yrs no complications the local news did a story on a lady that had the surgery 6 yrs ago she said she is doing great with no problems
  14. I was sleeve July 7 th I was at 280 I am currently at 210 I have gone from a 46 waist to 34 waist I stick to mostly protien foods and very low carbs. I get my water in but really haven't done much exercise I am about 30 pounds from my goal weight but thinking I want to change my goal by 10-15 more pounds so will be 40-45 pounds to go
  15. The sleeve has been around about 7-8 yrs I think I know my friend had hers done 5 yrs ago
  16. You should not eat it if you have an issue with it however if you are able to have a small piece no reason you can't remember we are not on a diet but rather a lifestyle change. I have not deprived myself of things I wanted and could eat and I am doing very well with my lifestyle change. I had my surgery 2 months ago and I am down 75 pounds with another 40 or so to go my original goal was to be 180 but now I am shooting for 160-170 I have dropped from 280 to 205 so far.
  17. I will have to say that coffee does not taste the same anymore I can not even get a cup down anymore just doesn't seem to be the same anymore.
  18. Puréed is like baby foods it is different from full liquids
  19. I am able to have coffee and tea during the clear liquid phase it needed to be without creamer but you should be taking meds for the acid reflux already and you can get it over the counter if the Dr doesn't give you a prescription
  20. I have ate thin crust pizza without problems you will need to go with how you feel eating it if it goes down ok then it is fine if it hurts then stop eating it
  21. I went to Mexico alone I did not have any issues at all
  22. Hi Jenny I was self pay I went to Mexico and had mine Done it was $4500 total cost you just pay airfare to San Dieago they pick you up there and take you back everything is covered. I did not have any issues there and I had friends that had also gone there and none of them had any issues either. I had my surgery on July 7 2012 I am so glad that I did it.
  23. Jessica It is a big decision to make I had the surgery in Mexico on July 7 2012 I have had great success as with all of the surgeries it is not a quick fix it is a tool to help you lose weight. It will depend on how you work the sleeve to lose weight. If you stick to the protiens first followed by your fruits and veggies with carbs being last you should do fine with it and remember it is not a race it can take up to 18 months to reach your goal although it can be much less. I started at 280 pounds and now I am 210 I was wearing 46 waist jeans and now I am wearing 34 waist. I am losing really good but i do stick to high protien first I know of people that don't even come close to the lifestyle change they eat real food when suppose to be on clear liquids or over eat on portion sizes just make sure you are willing to make a commitment to you lifestyle change You will be able to eventually be able to eat anything you want it will just be smaller portions.
  24. Hi good to see someone else in the bay area I am in San Francisco I would consider a support group
  25. I would make sure to keep the hand clean and not scratch it sounds like it is an infection but I doubt that is is from the surgery could be a cellulitis infection
